  1. Man, i love it when Damon is really high. I don't know what Snoop gave him before the performance, but one thing is for sure: Damon can't handle strong pot xD.
  2. There are like two radical sides from Damon in live shows First you got the Blur side, which he doesn't care if some things go wrong, he just wants to have fun. And then there's the Gorillaz side, which he wants everything to go in sync, not one mess up.
  3. Well, the songs live sound good (for example, i really don't like Glitter Freeze in the record, but i have to admit that the live version is very energetic and pretty awesome). I don't know if there's any bas live version in the shows, but if i have to choose one, i will say Rhinestone Eyes. It loses a lot from the sleepy/bored sound that Damon puts on the album. Sound more like a rare speech, and the drums are also in the wrong spot. They use two acoustic drums, when one of them could easily play the electronic drumset and the other one play the acoustic one.
  4. I also like this video: [ame= ] [/ame] He should consider doing audiobooks.
  5. Damon looks bored... ...really bored.
  6. And that's how Murdoc's twitter and the Sub Division Fanclub appeared. Seriously, if PB should have been really succesful, they wouldn't need these two things. Also, it seems that the Experience edition users like me are not giving us new content. The only things i have are four videos from the Roundhouse shows an the 3D Escape to Plastic Beach Game. Then, nothing. Everything else goes to the Sub-Divisioners. I really don't want to consider my edition as a waste, but i'm afraid it is (unless they put new content).
  7. Simply, there's no hits on Plastic Beach and mainstream radio refused to touch it. Do you really think they didn't try to court people in Radio 1, and commercial radio, and radio in the US, and MTV.... Plus no big product tie-in like the ipod commercial. With tickets well:- economy is sh!t, also the 'live' bubble seems to have burst a bit, 'rock' is not as 'in' as it was a few years ago, they probably projected a tour based on selling a lot more copies of PB and PB being bigger than it was, also they probably overestimated the amount of people that would pay high prices for Gorillaz gigs because something we have fans have had a reasonable feel for is that Gorillaz is a band that many people quite like but proportionately fewer are fanatical about. With the fanclub and shop and the website, yeah, they dropped the ball, no real way of denying it. Maybe it's trying to cut corners, maybe they didn't have the right people there, whatever, I'm sure they are doing the best they can with what they have, but the results haven't been there. (Finally let's note that PB was almost as critically acclaimed as Demon Days, and more so than the s/t) Oh yeah and Glasto, actually, I regard that as quite a triumph, there were a significant minority of reviewers who said it's what Glasto needed, I think in future years SERIOUS critics are going to see this for the daring feat it was. I don't give a f*ck if people wanted the Stones or U2, Glastonbury is more than that, always has been, Gorillaz helped make it that again today in 2010. If it discourages a few Guardian readers (btw I read the Guardian) from going there as a matter of course, because it's expected, because it's an institution - then GOOD! More babble of mine.
  8. Remember when Gorillaz was labeled as "zombie hip-hop"? *sigh*... i miss those spooky/eerie tracks from S/T and Demon Days.
  9. Despite that i do love this phase, you got to admit that this phase is not being comercially succesfull as the last two. Stylo was a failure, with little airplay on TV and radio stations. On Melancholy Hill is not really going that well either. Of course i'm not saying that the money and charts are the most important things on an artist/band since i care more about the songs. But with Gorillaz is somewhat different. If the whole tour thing doesn't get that well, then i don't know how will they get money for the third video (or the website, which has been there for like two months with no update). Another thing: I'm being kinda alienated by the single selection, when everybody thought the next video would be Superfast Jellyfish (me including) Jamie switches to OMH but then Superfast is still the second single. Did this happened before? A third single being the second video and the second single being the third? (or fourth, maybe they put Rhinestone Eyes as a third video being a fourth single and superfast gets fourth video and a chance of being stuck in limbo; or maybe they actually put out some other song of the album as a single (which is not possible since the rest of the songs don't really qualify as 'single material')) Then there's the format of the singles. So far, the singles have been in digital format (kinda makes sense, i don't think they sell the physical format anymore. Even some HMV stores got rid of them). But there was no promotion whatsoever, so that may be the reason why Stylo didn't took off as a lead single. So yeah, that was my whole babble about this thing.
  10. It says: "Do i make myself clear what i prefer of Bravo (the name of the magazine)?" It was kind of predictable by Albarn xD
  11. Well, here's mi kind of summary: -100 fans waiting for the band to appear, with some fangirls holding roses for Damon -The minibus arrive with the band on it and everybody start screaming. 5 minutes later security tries to protect them. A fan screams: "Please Damon, give me a kiss. Is all i'm asking". She's unsuccesful. -Damon's wearing sunglasses until the rehearsal starts. Alex looks like a naughty boy with the shorts and the messy hair. Graham looks silent and serious, he never smiles. Dave (which they erroneously call him Paul) tries to sneak in and be unnoticed. -The concert starts with Stereotype, the most heard single from The Great Escape. Next is Charmless Man, the song everybody were expecting and Blur doesn't fail. ¿But what happened? Damon forgot the lyrics! Blur's frontman smiles and apologises by putting his hands together. -Now Blur premieres their new single: Beetlebum, form their awaited fifth album. "We're testing it", explains Damon. "Next time we'll play it, it will sound much better. Patience!" To finish the concert, Blur chooses To The End, an old song from the band and that Damon always liked it. -"See you later my friends". After that, Damon puts his sunglasses and shook the hands of the fans. The band will play at the "Doctor Music Festival", in the Pirineo of Lleida. So that's kind of the whole thing. But seriously, i have no problem in translating the whole thing.
  12. Nice article. If you want i can translate it.
  13. Wonder what did Damon said to Cass and Gabriel. Not Damon related, but i thought it would be funny to post it in here. And that's crazy Albarn over there.
  14. Was it a rescheduling problem like the other three dates?
  15. They need to play songs from the first album. I mean, i love Clint Eastwood but it would be really cool to see some 19/2000, Tomorrow Comes Today, 5/4, Re-Hash, M1A1,etc. But no, one of my favourite albums gets narrowed to just one song. I also want to know when exactly are they going to play "Plastic Beach": [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qhchE6rEZE]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qhchE6rEZE[/ame]

  17. I hope so. They have a huge fanbase in south america and let's hope they arrive by next year.
  18. So i asked Murdoc/Phil Cornwell/Cass Browne if Gorillaz could be in South America to expand the leg of the tour. He said no. I am crying.
  19. Images of Damon at the Beirut date. Really not that impressive, but it's the only thing i got:
  20. http://gorillaz.com/club-room# Interesting...
  21. There was good competition in the category (love the 4 videos), so it's really not bad. On the new category i wanted Broken Bells to win, but it was impossible having Kesha and Justin Bieber in there.
  22. Did Gorillaz won the Breakthrough Video Award at the VMA or the show didn't started yet? I'm only curious about that category, don't give a rat's *** about the whole show.
  23. New image from the Damascus show, plus an article about the show: http://www.syria-today.com/index.php/culture/12184-headlining-damascus
