Monumental music...
yeahh....that's how most people seem to listen to it now...as 'background' or 'elevator' music, not for actually listening to it, but as something to make you feel at ease or something like that. i do it sometimes too. but many times, i actually get engrossed in it. i get very emotional listening to some pieces, at times. specially some of the greatest music or some grand aria. that reminds me of the Grand March from Aida! funny thing is, people going to opera would think i'm nuts...not a lot of people who look like me wud like such music!

Monumental music...
Hi! I'm listening to Beethoven's 9th Symphony right now. It came in at #1 (of course!) in our classical music radion station count-down for the New Years Day. Do ya'll have any other monumental works in mind that go with celebrating something new, or something wonderful? Beethoven's "Consecration of the House" overture is also marvelous. So is his "Fantasia for piano, orchestra, and chorus" along with his Fifth and Sixth symphonies, and his "Emperor" piano Concerto. I also like William Tell overture of Rossini. Are there such huge anthems in the 'modern' rock music? *wondering* elighten me with your thoughs!

next time, check for innocuous-sounding labeling such as "modified food starch". unless it says the "modified" thing is tapioca, it is--I believe--gelatin. but some foods here also have 'kosher gelatin', which, someone tried to tell me, is made of plant cellulose. I'm not too sure. it could as well come from an animal that was butchered in a 'kosher' way. who knows.

And also the one where Kansas-State is playing last year's champs, Ohio State. K-State beat the cr@p out of Oklahoma, i saw that game...i was soooooo happy!!!

best things to happen to me: -got this nice, fine job (after searching forever! lmao) -bought a new slick car -went on travel to a few places i'd wanted to go to for a long time! (NYC, Las Vegas, Chicago, Smokey Mountains, etc.) -got a nice b-day surprise party, which i'd not gotten until now! lol Worst things to happen to me: -some girl managed to break my heart for the first time -i managed to hurt another girl's feelings :( -lost 2 spiritual leaders whom i wanted to meet at some point in my life. i guess i'll see them in some other life.

wow Kettercat, it's cool that you know about gelatin. until now, most everyone i met was surprised when i told them that gelatin is made of ground bones of all sorts of animals (even dogs! ). I too try and avoid it. but here in many packaged foods, they already have gelatin (though in very small amounts, less than 2%), so can't avoid it too much. it's in yogurt too! :stunned: and  @ your seafood comment. you should stand next to me when people ask me if by vegetarian, i mean i take seafood! LMAO
