I'm with you completely. Viva is just something I love to listen to as a whole, and it hasn't faded at all for me. And I think X&Y has had more staying power for me than Parachutes... Parachutes still has Shiver, Dont Panic, Yellow, and Everythings Not Lost. But X&Y still has Fix You, Swallowed in the Sea (Such an underrated song..), Square One, What If, Talk. It's just all personal preference that leads to what has staying power and what doesn't :smart:

So much better live. Hearing the piano throughout made me happy. I'll put the live version on my iPod. I'm glad I watched the stream tonight, it restored my faith in Coldplay. (And damn I always forget how good Politik is)

This is wonderful.

Coldplay has been my favorite band for a long, long time. And I can still see very small glimpses of them in paradise, but covered up by attempts to appeal to teenagers and be a radio hit. It makes me sad. I don't want Coldplay to turn into a band i used to like because they went after biggest band in the world instead of best band in the world. [ame= ] [/ame] Even Kesha has talent, but you wouldn't know it based off everything she puts out there. It's an exaggeration, but I dont want that to happen to Coldplay. They're better than that... At least I hope.

What a waste of an awesome instrumental part :/ i had no idea it was there until i strained my ears to hear it. And that's in the 30 seconds of the song that I despise, it could have saved that part. Production fail.

I had to say it because of the title of the thread. But I will now try to save the on-topic-ness with a crazy metaphor to pokemon! As a kid, I loved pokemon. I collected the cards and played the games and watched the show and everything. The original 151 were awesome, and I still look back at them with very happy fond memories. However, after the 151, It was pushing it too far and I didnt like it anymore. I dont even acknowledge that other pokemon exist. I'm afraid that Paradise : Coldplay :: Pokemon#152 : Pokemon. I hope I'm wrong Does that make sense? Probably not. But I tried.

So I guess this thread isn't about pokemon?...

I said earlier that I would like a stripped version better, and this makes me know I would [ame= ] [/ame] If the actual song was like this, It would be wonderful..

ETIAW by a lot. I still can hear/feel some of the Coldplay that is my favorite band. In Paradise... I just can't...

I thoroughly enjoy the lyrics that they tweeted... But as for lyrics I like in this song, that's kind of it. Which makes me sad. Musically it's okay. Not Amazing. Which also makes me sad. I think I would love a stripped down version of this a lot more. Im kinda disappointed. Its an alright song, id give it a 6/10. But for my favorite band.... a very poor effort. Other thoughts: Expected is not Espected. A live version might be better. And in the night, the stormy night away she flied (Does it seriously say flied? Like is that real? Flew.Flew.Flew.Sigh) But goodnight

I didn't buy ETIAW as a digital single, but bought it when I saw it at the store as a hard copy CD. I will do the same thing with Paradise.
