  3. In this day and age, we have to accept that different people have different takes on life, and leave it at that. Believe what you want, ultimately, if I don't believe in what the Bible says, it will not infringe on my beliefs about what will happen when I die. When, I die, I die, that's it, why should that be such a bad thing anyway? That's what I believe, and that's it. And I do agree with the Bible on living life as a good person, ie, not killing, stealing etc.

  12. You look at the 'evidence' with pre-conceived notions of what you want to see, and I accept that, but I also think you need to accept that some people will not buy into it. And also, just because people do not believe Jesus was the son of God does not make us bad people. I know for a fact that I am a better person that some people I have known personally who made a point of going to church every week. And how do you know God is a male anyway? People always refer to God as 'He'. How can God be a male, when gender divisions are socially constructed? Surely God would exist above such categorisations? I'm not trying to knock religion, I just have an over-inquisitive mind and I don't understand a lot of it...
  13. Yeah I kinda agree with your posts on this one. I was brought up Catholic, and have read the Bible and listened to the teachings of it, and I'm not too impressed by them! I consider myself to be Agnostic, and I do think that the world is made up of different perpectives on different things, religion being one of them. It's just another way of life to me, constructed to try and create meaning, you know those big questions, why are we here blah blah... What REALLY bothers me about religion and particularly Catholicism (just speaking about what I know about), is that it's all so 'death-oriented'. You know, about rewards in the 'afterlife'. Why do people accept that life right here and right now is shitty for some people? Because those people will be 'rewarded' in the afterlife?? The Bible itself conveys a good way of approaching life, you know love thy neighbour and all that malarky, but some of it is just not appropriate to the times we live in.
