  1. Oh well, looks like I can't win either way! Sorry to bother you folks - I know what I heard was awesome... and I can't wait to hear the whole thing!
  2. "in the midst of sinking ships, is where the calmest water sits..."
  3. Am I Coldplayer1317???? Damn, I hope not! Not even sure what that means but NO - I'm a new member brought here because I am a big fan and have a "tiny" insight but not much to report. Just that I heard two songs via a cell phone (snippets) and KNEW "visually" what the design for the back cover was. I never claimed to know that much... but so far much of the speculation is pretty on point. I don't want to irritate everyone... just finding out more as we get closer.
  4. "Paradise" is not in the chorus...
  5. It's under serious wraps - no leaking at all. And those who hear it (incl. Billboard, by the way) don't give the reader ANY insight into the songs. It's the policy!
  6. I've already said too much... I don't want to get my buddy in trouble! It's no big deal... others have heard the songs, too - more than I have (but they were "in the know")
  7. I told you I can only comment on what I heard: I heard two snippets of songs (Paradise and PoC). Paradise is both slow and fast... it builds into an anthem. PoC was harder to hear but it has a great bass line and a great steady beat - just sounded better and different than YouTube. It wasn't off the soundboard.... it was just a recording of the recording.
  8. I don't know but I am 99.9% sure it will be on there - all I can say it is so cool it will blow your mind (thru a cell phone, no less).
  9. So different from the "live" version I saw on YouTube...
  10. I can't say... they would get fired! But, like I said, it's not anyone "in the know". It's someone who just does what they are told. Also, the idea that Mylo Xyloto is based on a "love story" might mean between a father and son. Just a guess...
  11. No, it wasn't the actual artwork - imagine how much work has gone into the sequencing of the songs. Well, that much goes into the artwork as well. It starts with a "sketch" and gets revised again, again and again. There are designers involved in the process... there were many ideas tossed around. Remember, the artwork can't be submitted until the tracklisting is finalized. If you know someone who told you what it looked like (and I don't know if it will in the end b/c they are sworn to secrecy), then you could "recreate" what you are told. That's all...
  12. I only heard it over the phone...fabulous tune. "Paradise" is EPIC.
  13. The sequencing isn't done (the order of the tracks)... and it won't be until the 11th hour. I don't claim to know anymore than what I am told.
  14. According to whom?
  15. Wow, dude - that's great thinking (except Golden Arrow is part of the lyrics of one of the other tunes)
  16. The band has narrowed down the final tracklisting to 16 possible songs, and there is a disagreement on just how many make the album - the band wants only 10 or 11, but there are so many great songs that are part of the story that might not make the cut. That's the problem... the album follows a story to it's conclusion - and the band is very adamant about making it an album that you listen to all the way through. Because of this, I honestly don't think "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" is going to make the final cut (unless there is pressure from the boys at Parlophone/EMI). Hence, this song being last because it's a happy ending beyond the happy ending. Also, they really don't want to go beyond the "45-minute rule" the band put in place before VLVODAAIF. With that being stated, the songs in contention: 1. Mylo Xyloto (1000-01) 2. Hurts Like Heaven 3. Up in Flames 4. Paradise 5. Charlie Brown 6. U.F.O. (A Hopeful Transmission) - piano interlude, static, sounds, short segue 7. The Streets Are Running??? - I haven't heard this one but is it brand new?? 8. Up With the Birds 9. Princess of China - apparently amazing 10. Car Kids 11. Us Against the World 12. Major Minus 13. Sex and Violence 14. Tomorrow 15. Great Expectations 16. Moving to Mars - not on album 17. Every Teardrop is a Waterfall They are STILL recording songs/parts and won't sequence until the final hour, IMO.
  17. Is that you in your avatar? You have a Joss Stone vibe going on< or is it me?!
