Hi I'm new here. I'm a 17 year old from Raleigh north Carolina in the united states(kinda hard to be a coldplay fan there) but yeah so hello to you all

So the new school year started and there is this girl I has liked for like a year and a half and I got really lucky because I got poetry for one of my electives( was my like last choice but that's not why I'm lucky) the girl I like is in the class too and all the rest of the people in the class we both don't know so we never talk to them so I get to talk to her alone for like 50 min and I like that. So my best friend keeps telling her she likes me and that I should ask her out but the thing is he is a total dick and is probably lying to set me up for failure and I don't want her to think that I'm a creeper so I dunno what to do. One day she came in with like super short shorts and was all like " My shorts are all short today." so I think she's trying to get me to go out with her but I dunno. There's this other girl I kinda like and she wrote her number on my arm and she always texts me and stuff so I think she likes me but I have no idea. I don't want to ask the first girl out and get rejected and that be a really awkward class so I dunno what to do.
