I've known what he's thought for a long time and understand it truly, but it did seem a little lonely for him at the awards even though he wants it that way. It just made me think for a split second....that it's too bad it's crazy the way it is because it would be nice to see them in the same photo once every ion.

All of the guys had a spouse/companion with them at the awards. I get that it's Chris and Gwyneth's choice to do things the way they do, but I just think it gets carried away sometimes. Would it really kill them to be seen together once in a blue moon?

I also thought it was going to be just Noel and Chris with all of the hype. Don't get me wrong, I'll take what I can get, and Chris was brilliant (as usual), and I don't want to be unfair to Noel's band (haha), but I do wish it was just Chris and Noel. Great song, though!

Unfortunately, they are damned if they do and damned if they don't when it comes to moving ahead with the times. They are criticized if they don't "grow" and remain the same and criticized if they deviate from what they were in the beginning. I personally will take whatever they dish out as long as they keep dishing it. A world without Coldplay would suck. I know I've said this before, but the negative comments/articles are really bothering me because I'm sure they are bothering Chris and his quirky, yet wonderful, personality. Can you imagine how he feels going into the Brits? There are some people saying that the Willie Nelson (yuck!) cover of their song was better than them. He stresses, and always has, so much over his vocals anyway, so I'm sure this guts him. I can't help it!

I'm wondering if Chris is reading anything negative and taking it hard. Any fan knows that he is a worrier and paranoid at times and takes things pretty hard. I know he's a big boy and all of that, but I still can't help but get defensive for them/him and feel bad if he's feeling bad. I'm a softie. As for the reviews, it's funny how the are all over the place. One says they rocked the house. Another said it was a highlight of the evening. Another said it wasn't their best performance. One said Rihanna never sounded better (huh?) while others says both had pitch problems. They were all over the place. Honestly, I think it's been a bit overblown. It wasn't bad. I wish the Rihanna thing never happened, but it was fine. Chris came to the states just days ago and has had 4 big events to do....while not feeling well. I'm sure they cancelled the Australia trip next week because he's been under the weather and needs time to rest his voice and get well. To me, Dave Grohl was advocating actual musicianship....people putting their mouth to a microphone and singing and playing an instrument - which our guys do. I know fans have a hard time overlooking the cut down to Coldplay in their video. I know I did, but I think things have been decent between the two since then. As for auto-tune, all you have to do is listen to one Coldplay song and realize that Chris doesn't use it. I'm going to choose to believe that Dave was cutting down the studio tricks that some use to make themselves sound perfect and those that don't play instruments or sing live. I'll end with a pet peeve.....lip synching. These people get glowing reviews..."they sounded great!" Of course they did! Irritating.

I went back and watched the DVR, and I thought the boys did a good job. The whole Rihanna thing should have been scrapped. The boys do much better on their own. Chris held up his end of the bargain with POC in my opinion, but Rihanna didn't. Of course, ouor boys are truly LIVE and don't, thank God, rely on lip syncing and other tricks, so all in all, it was great. Coldplay, you are the greatest!!

Sure, Rihanna didn't sound good during POC. (I didn't think Chris sounded bad at all to be honest.) Sure, Chris wasn't in top form tonight, but it wasn't his worst either, and we all know he's been sick. Sure, the whole xyloband thing could have worked a little better. Sure, it's disappointing that they didn't win anything. BUT.... It was a surprise that they were even nominated this year considering the album wasn't even eligible. It was amazing to be nominated amongst so many artists. Come on now, it wasn't their worst performance. Paradise isn't always questionable live! They'll get 'em next year.

Lip synching should be outlawed at The Grammy's for goodness sake.

New Here!! Hi guys! I am one of you! New to the board but not new to Coldplay. I am still reeling over the concert last night. I wish I could have been there, though. I have a question for those that were there.... During "Yellow" Chris dedicated it to someone in the upper right balcony in a checkered shirt. Did anyone happen to take a gander up there and see who it was? Soooooooo glad to be around people that share my obsession. :D
