  1. Oh wow, amazing spot and awesome pictures! Hahahaha, his faces were hilarious at this gig. This is from Green Eyes, isn't it?
  2. Around me were also some empty seats. What a mess. I hope the nice guy I met in the queue got in in time. He hadn't picked up his ticket at this point because the organisation was not able to handle the many people that arrived at the venue at 5pm and after and so put all the people in one giant queue. They clearly underestimated the size and response of the crowd coming....
  3. I KNOWWW! Still like a blur though :) Lucky to get a ticket, lucky to meet Dan, lucky to get inside in time, lucky that the French crowd was so amazing - that's a lot of luck :D
  4. Hello and welcome... check out the Multimedia section which you can find here http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/threads/100222-2014-05-28-Casino-de-Paris-Paris-France
  5. You are right the organisation was sooo poor! I was standing in that queue as well. Someone told me tey had two queues for people with tickets and people without but eventually the put these two queues together. I was panicking as I thought I'd be late too but thought when SOOO many people are still waiting outside they just cannot start playing. Apparently they did. :/ I am sorry for you that you missed the start. I hope the majority got in in time.
  6. Oh my god, I came back from Paris yesterday night and am listening to the live stream right now while reading this awesome thread with all your experiences and feelings of the show whether you've been there or listened to it on the radio. It was truly amazing (although very short as some pointed out). However, it was so magic and all the memories came back within an instant reading all this and lsistening back. So I thought I might share my experiences with you as well as it was a very special day... I arrived in Paris on the day of the concert. I had a seating ticket in the same area as Coeurli as far as I can tell from her pictures (also the same crappy folding seat - but standing the whole concert anyway haha), although it was Cat2, so a bit more up :) So I arrived at the venue at about 4:30 pm and queued to get my ticket. Fortunately the queue for the tickets wasn't that long at that time (compared to 5pm). The lady at the desk wasn't able to find my name on the list in the first time and I was about to jump at her and freak out as I travelled all the way to Paris just to tell me I'm not on the list or what?! After this Livenation site was so crappy I already started to believe that something HAS TO got wrong...But pheeeew - they eventually found it :D So I waited next to the Early entrance queue and the artist's entrance (as Coeurli mentioned is very close haha) and I also saw the woman - Nicole, right? - and she seemed like awaiting something or to be more precise - someone. So I decided to stay there and was proved right when at about 6pm a row of black minivans arrived out of the blue and the band jumping out one after another :stunned: I was able to get it all on video... so see for yourself :) https://twitter.com/Stepsi89/status/472133016060710912 I then waited in front of the venue and decided to buy something to eat until the doors open...still had an hour time for that so I went up the street when I passed the soundtruck opposite the venue. A door opened when I walked by and Always in my Head blasted out of it and I immediately stopped and looked backwards and a man was standing at the door and looked for something when he saw me staring at him - haha :D He looked at me questioning and I asked him if it was the band doing soundcheck and he said yes and asked me if I want to come in and have a look :stunned: HELL YEAH! So I went into this truck and it appears that no one less than DAN GREEN himself was sitting at this mixing desk in this truck!!! I was like WHAAAAT the hell is happening right now :D :D :D haha he looked over his shoulders when I entered and said "Hi" when he turned back to the screens where you could see the band doing soundcheck in the venue and still AIMH was played by them. I seemd to have missed Ink, True Love and Green Eyes, but still - I saw the band and Dan. Chris was making a lot of fun and seemed in a very good mood. He was joking to Dan over the microphone and while playing the guitars he made up lyrics like "Hey Dan, how does it sound? This sounds worse but Dan will make it sound sooooo good yeah - lalalalalala" Sorry I cannot remember all that as I was so kind of shocked by the whole situation :D then they played the music Anchorman posted which seemed to be Crests of waves? I wasn't sure what it was so I asked Dan if it's something new and he smiled at me and said: "It's rather a very very old one." Me: "Will they play it later though?" Dan: "I have no idea to be honest. It'd be surprise for me either. Hehe." He is such a nice and decent and polite person! I asked if I can make a picture as no one would ever believe me this and he said of course I can. I assured him though that I won't do any videos and in the same moment I said it to him he turned to me and wanted to say the same haha - he smiled and said "Haha, yes, I wanted to say that. Otherwise I'll get a lot of trouble! ;)" The band was in the meantime playing around some individual stuff and Chris asked Tony (apparently another soundman) if he has recorded something he just played on the piano and if he can email the sample to him please. Then Guy played a bass line Chris was watching and listening to carefully and then asked Tony again if he can email him that sample as well. Some new stuff for LP7?!?! Then doors were about to open so the band finished soundcheck and went off the stage. But Dan continued with some songs they taped from the Glasgow gig (ASfoS, Magic, ETIAW, Paradise) From what they Dan and Tony were talking I assumed they weren't so sure about the setlist yet so checked the ones which seemed most likely to be played... It was amazing to look over Dan's shoulders and how he can make sound something good even better. Haven't seen this kind of studio work in my whole life so I felt blessed to witness all this and then with Dan and Coldplay, my favourite band in the world! He singled out every layer and tuned it correctly, took his cellphone and noted every setting. In the truck it sounded all very good and in my spot in the venue itself the sound was great too. I cannot complain. When the Glasgow songs blasted through the speakers I said to Dan that their show there was amazing and he totally agreed and thought it was nice to here the "old" stadium songs again and doing a big crowd again next to the tiny venues. https://twitter.com/Stepsi89/status/472748233387962368 I spent something like over an hour in the truck which was apparently owned by the man who invited me in, who was French and responsible for the sound production. Also some people from NRJ were in this truck and they were all sooooo nice. I still cannot believe how lucky I was and what Coldplay Karma that must have been that I decided to go to buy a bottle of water and just passed that truck in that particular second! Hahaha - I am still stunned and amazed as you can imagine. When I left at 7.40-ish doors were already open and I thought the most people are already inside but hell no! As Coeurli said in her wonderful review, there was still a queue and in the meantime police arrived to handle the traffic in front of the venue and the crowds! That was a mess. I asked the security where I have to queue when I already have a ticket and he pointed to the long queue on the right of the entrance and I was shocked. So I went down the street until the corner of the Casino de Paris where the queue continued around the edge. Another street and another pavement full of waiting people! I went along this street when the next street was crossed and around that corner the queue continued! I was asking myself if I'd been faster when I went the other way around because it seemed the people were queuing around the whole building block and the end is where it also starts hahaha...I was a bit desperate because it was almost 8 and I thought the show starts at this time because the ticket stated it...but then the same happened to me as to Coeurli, we were allowed to jump ahead with our tickets and I was in the venue eventually at 8:20 or something. The concert itself was AMAZING. The stream gives you an impression of the crowd but it was MUCH LOUDER! Although I was high up standing in the mezzanine people were jumping, clapping, dancing, singing - just partying! I thought Coldplay are doing this smaller tour with these quieter songs so Chris isn't that exhausted and sweaty hehe but it was sooo damn hot in this lovely looking and atmospheric theatre by Charlie Brown because everybody was dancing and jumping up and down. [video=vimeo;96853950] And Magic was so cool. The audience immediately joined the guys and sang along and Chris was really amazed (as you can hear by his "OH" in the stream). I literally got goosebumps! Classics with Clocks and GPASUYF gave the crowd the rest and we went storming wild :) But if that wasn't enough the band treated us with Green Eyes :dazzled: which I haven't heard live since their Viva tour in Hannover, when they performed it on the C-stage acousticly. https://twitter.com/stepsi89/status/471779531867451393 Ink and True Love were truely magic and again the atmosphere when the crowd sang along the ohohohoh's. That was kind of a pause to gain some energy for Viva and ETIAW, which perfectly fitted the atmosphere and the need of the crowd to sing :D Midnight was ok. To be honest, I am no real fan of it as it just doesn't fit in my opinion. It always seems to stand out - but in an awkward kind of way. I agree it grows and the energy can be felt when the beat is getting more and more apparent. But Chris needed a pause from this exhausting setlist I guess as well and I also saw him leaving the stage before they started that song. Oceans, well, without a doubt one of my favourites on GS - and so emotional. And preparing the crowd to go wild again as they did in ASfoS! I read someone here on this thread listening to the stream didn't like it being played - I can tell you, WE IN PARIS LOVED IT BEING PLAYED! I haven't witnessed in my whole Coldplayer-Life an so ecstatic audience-sing-along during the whole song - esp. when Chris sings "And I don't care, go on and tear me apart. I don't care if you do" all of us were singing with full heart and energy and love and power and everything! You can see it on some videos on YouTube to get a feeling of it but still now, 3 days after that epic night, I cannot really find words to describe it. And the confetti of course - it didn't reach me where I was sitting unfortunately but I grabbed some leftovers as there're plenty - time for a GS-confetti-collages ;-) ... [video=vimeo;96853839] https://twitter.com/Stepsi89/status/471784128745316352 The band was in such a good mood you could feel it in every second. And Chris was joking with the other chaps all the time and smiling and laughing and pointing at people in the audience. Special Bucking moments inclusive, esp. during ASfoS as you may have already heard - haha, oh yes, he wants to die in Jonny's arms. I grinned so hard when he hold onto Jonny while singing this line :D I would have loved to see O being performed live as it it such an amazing song but I am also glad they did Fix You. I also think it fitted the atmosphere, the show and the crowd better as the setlist was more like a coldplay-party-setlist comparable to the stadium gigs. Even after the band finished the encore the crowd wasn't satisfied, we needed more Coldplay and you can even here it on the stream! OMG! Haha. I'm surprised they stayed so long. But I think the audience continued clapping and screaming and doing the ohohohoh's for a longer time though, but well, Coldplay haven't heard it as they always do the runner, right? So this time as well I suggest (saw a video on YouTube showing Chris leaving the theatre shirtless :dozey:) Well, that was an epic night and I think everyone who was there is agreeing on that. And I can totally support Coeurli impressions. And I also produced such a wall of words :shocked2: well, I guess you'll have to live with it. I just needed to tell you all that and I hope many of you get tickets for London to witness Coldplay live at this perfect state. I still feel so thankful I got a ticket and I don't begrudge it to everyone here on the forum. And now I listen to the stream a fourth time :D PS: Sightseeing guided me to this little piece of art. I assume it definitely was a Coldplay-inspired trip...https://twitter.com/Stepsi89/status/472374545190756352

Mh I partly understand you. But there are not so active people on this forum who may have not so much time to be active here, however once a year participate in this lovely action. Me for instance. I'd be sad when coldplayers exclude other coldplayers...
