  1. Sweet! I'll be in upstate NY around that time, and it'll only be a half day's drive to get there. I concur that NYE will be pretty crazy in the city, so I agree the 30th is the better option for anyone taking kids (I've got a 12 and 13 yr old). Now the big question is: do I go to his show, or roll the dice and hopefully catch them in the late winter on a pre-Mexico stop? -Joe
  2. Blech. Studio Movie Grill for Dallas area. :veryangry2: The only bad part of the concert was the people walking up and down the aisle with food in the middle of the show, so now why would I want to relive that part of the experience?? Oh, well. It's a weekday night, so can't go anyway because of school for the kiddos. :-( -Joe
  3. I think DVD is such a ubiquitous term that it's used generically to mean any format of a "video disc". IMO, since I assume they recorded everything in HD, it'll be trivial to make a Blu-ray "master" after it is edited. My guess is a main DVD + Blu-ray + Digital Download offering, and possibly another (cheaper) one with just DVD. -Joe
  4. Since they doubled up on the major US cities the first round, it makes me think they were trying to keep costs down. Didn't they say it cost $600k per show for the xylobands? Saving money on travel would help offset that. Is there much difference in the stage equipment between stadium and arena? If so, that would be another reason to preclude more NA shows, presuming that the SA shows will all be stadiums... Still hoping they'll have a couple southern US shows before Mexico, though! :fingersx: -Joe

  6. Yeah, i just lost my "buzz" from the Dallas show last week. Now I'm obsessing on whether or not there will be a third US leg of the tour. Still kicking myself for not buying tickets for both Dallas shows, as one night was clearly not enough! -Joe
  7. love this quote from today's HoustonPress: "Oh, does your favorite band drench the crowd in confetti during the closing number? Coldplay does it the second song, bitches (and then again two songs later). Does your favorite band sell glow sticks to wave at random intervals? Coldplay gives away free bracelets that light up by remote control!" http://blogs.houstonpress.com/rocks/2012/06/coldplay_toyota_center_june_25.php
  8. @Allegra would probably say it was because you were sitting with all the snobs! lol ;-)
  9. Doh! You're right. I completely forgot about that place! :-)
  10. Ok, that validates the theory I had come up with on my own. And what's the deal with the food? When did nachos and churros become concert food? At one point during the middle of the set, I saw some guy walk down the aisle with a personal pizza! Really? And I'm still appalled at the guy sitting next to me during the Roger Waters/The Wall show who had to go get ice cream half-way through Comfortably Numb!! -Joe
  11. lol, i didn't mean to start a U2 vs coldplay flamewar! :-) I saw U2 last summer on the 360 tour at the Meadowlands. Don't get me wrong; it was an awesome show, and I loved every bit of it. (I've also been a huge fan since college in the late 80s, and saw them on the Elevation tour at the AAC.) We were in the nose-bleed seats behind the stage for U2, so maybe that has an effect on my comparison, but I felt more a part of the coldplay show. I just felt like there was way more energy at the coldplay concert. (of course, just my $.02!) -Joe
  12. I think I remembered you because you had the concert Ts on. My son and I had our U2 shirts on, and I noticed we stuck out because no one else was wearing concert Ts! I guess I missed the memo that said you are supposed to dress up for concerts... or maybe that is only a Dallas thing! -Joe
  13. @shanew21 hey! I think I was sitting a row or two behind you. Sec 118, Row T, Seat 15 best. concert. ever. Was easily better than any other concert I've been to since my first concert in '85. The bar has been set very high for my daughter, as this was her first concert ever (just turned 12 last month). Son (13) said it was even better than U2 last summer at the Meadowlands. -Joe
