  1. It's even worse if you remove repeating lyrics. I'm gonna give you my heart 'Cause you light up the path I don't care, go on and tear me apart I don't care if you do I think I saw you I wanna die in your arms You're such a heavenly view 7 original lines + ASFOS in the entire song. By comparison a single verse in Yellow was 11 poetic lines. ASFOS is still extremely catchy though.
  2. Don't get me wrong: I absolutely love "A Sky Full of Stars" although I feel the song could be that much better if the band had devoted as much time to the lyrics as they did the beat. Here are the lyrics with "a sky full of stars" removed... I'm gonna give you my heart 'Cause you light up the path I don't care, go on and tear me apart I don't care if you do I think I saw you I wanna die in your arms I'm gonna give you my heart You're such a heavenly view Lyrics are really lacking and shallow on the surface. It's a shame because of how great "A Sky Full of Stars" is otherwise. The vocals on this track almost make up for it...
  3. I'd be willing to purchase it :).
  4. Hi bdevil, There would not be a discernible difference on either of those sets between 16-bit and 24-bit FLAC. Only a fantastic ear could spot the difference on five-figure equipment, if that. That's why even iTunes only offers AAC, which is of course below FLAC. Even with AAC most listeners wouldn't notice the difference between that and a lossless FLAC. Most sites offer a FLAC rip of the retail CD. The 24-bit would be encoded from masters. Just stick to lossless flac.
  5. I don't get why "In My Place" and "Got Put a Smile..." keep popping up. They're some of the more ho-hum Coldplay tunes. "ETIAW" deserves a place near "ASFOS".
  6. The CD is encoded at a similar bitrate/quality. Just buy the CD for $10 and rip it in FLAC. Sounds absolutely fantastic in this format. Unless you have extremely expensive equipment you won't come close to hearing a difference between 16-bit and 24-bit.
  7. Past Coldplay albums of the last decade have gotten off to a speedy start straight into the embrace of radio playlists across many genres. Yet, that doesn't seem to be the case with an album that has had singles debut on iTunes at #1 and retain a top 10 spot. "Ghost Stories" just isn't getting mainstream radio playback. Through the guide at xmfan.com, I was able to uncover that "Magic" hasn't been played on Hits 1 since April and "A Sky Full of Stars" has yet to debut. Other stations such as Kiss, Z100, and 20 on 20 have not spun a Coldplay song in months. Time to request more Coldplaying or what?
  8. Well, this certainly popped up out of nowhere. I was browsing iTunes and noticed a new Swedish House Mafia album (having been a fan of "Save the World," I was hoping the album would have a similar style). To my surprise, Coldplay is featured on the song "Resurrection." Since I have not heard the song yet, I do not know whether it features Chris's vocals or if it was only an instrumental collaboration, I had to post it here first since I haven't seen anyone mention it yet! The album also features a new official "ETIaW" remix, check it out on iTunes: itunes. apple. com/us/album/until-now-deluxe-version/id563648792 Note: remove the spaces after iTunes., the forum won't let me post links yet.
  9. During Apple's September 1, 2010 Keynote, Chris took it to the keynote stage without the rest of the band (Chris called them "too lazy" to show up :laugh3:). The late Steve Jobs announced Chris, making mention of Coldplay working on a new album that Apple was very excited about. Considering how "Wedding Bells" doesn't appear in the Mylo Xyloto Wiki, I figured this may be a lost song for many of us so here it is again! I figure the recycled lyrics may be one reason that it didn't appear on Mylo Xyloto. "Poison in my blood," "I always loved you and I always will." Still, it could have had a welcome spot on the album. The original song was eventually evolved into "Christmas Lights," although it still stands as its own individual song. Here's the only performance/released recording of "Wedding Bells" to date: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwbCuyScCjI]Coldplay - Wedding Bells - live at Apple keynote (720p HD) Exclusive Track - YouTube[/ame]
  10. Did anybody record the show's audio in full for this magical night? There is a bootleg for August 3 but it is not quite the same as hearing the same night we went to. If not, I am tempted to rip the audio in setlist order from the best quality YouTube videos I can find then master that. I will make sure to share that here if I do! I will share some pictures from three rows behind the stage too, as perfect of a view as you can get really besides being in the first few floor rows! They do all walk around so their backs aren't to you the entire show, they all came within at least ten feet of us! Amazing show!
