Ticket Exchange Thread 2016 North America
Use this thread for Coldplay fans to exchange/sell tickets to one another. _____ I was indecisive when purchasing so in the spur of the moment I purchased a pair of tickets in both sections 224A and 316 (both look like surprisingly good seats) for the MetLife NJ/NY 7/17 show. However my friend may not be able to take off from his job for the weekend of the concert so I might be interested in a straight trade of the pair of 224A tickets for a single field ticket for either NJ date, or possibly even the Philadelphia date. Any other ideas let me know.

[2016-02-07] Coldplay headlining Super Bowl 2016 - Confirmed
Pretty easy to guess that a performance seen live by over 110 million people in the U.S. alone would crash a fan-site for the band :).

Independence Day 2? Didn't notice that but will check it out. Edit: That commercial had the national anthem played. I'll check my recording of the game. Ah, X-Men: Apocalypse. The cover is by Clarity, and here's the full version of it:

I'm a Global Citizen supporter but this just seems to be a plain white Global Citizen shirt, and not the colorful shirt Chris wore.

[2016-02-07] Coldplay headlining Super Bowl 2016 - Confirmed
I've been looking forward to this performance for a long time, and have to say while I didn't love it as much on first view it has definitely grown on me. Regardless, I do think they could've done better since I've seen superior live performances by the band -- it wasn't the best as expected. The set list could've been better as well: the version of Paradise they played was not stellar, and I think ASFOS would've fit much better in that slot. The band did seem to have a great time and even if the performance wasn't all I expected it to be, the Yellow opening was still a good nod to long-time fans. It flowed just decently -- it was clear if the band had an half-hour they could've put on a better show since the abbreviated songs didn't fit as well as I'd hope. Not to be too negative since I'm still glad Coldplay got to highlight a milestone half-time show but I've seen the band do better.

I think it's "forty million people," referring to Coldplay's 40 million Facebook fans.

Rock in Rio 2011 Performance - Super Bowl Worthy
Coldplay's energy levels at Rock in Rio 2011 were perhaps the highest of any Coldplay performance I can think of right now. The band seemed to really embrace the rock aspect of the festival, with an even harder guitar/drum-driven performance than usual. At least, the versions of some of these songs seem to have their rock factor amped up higher than the band typically performs them. This seems to be a great basis for their Super Bowl performance. Easily one of the times I've seen the band at their best: (Full performance - sorry for quality.) The quality of this video is much better but it cuts out the first few minutes:

Beyoncé Not Being Featured on the Track Title
Yeah, I do think it works perfectly as-is but if she needed more lyrics for them to feel it to be worth adding her then I wouldn't mind it. Either Coldplay's management or Beyonce's management didn't want it to be a proper Beyonce track, it seems. It's definitely a business decision to not feature her.

Beyoncé Not Being Featured on the Track Title
The sad part is that they could've given Beyonce a bit more to do, and it wouldn't have detracted from the song. I do think she is prominent enough to be featured, but I feel like this is more of a label/management issue. Beyonce's camp probably didn't find it beneficial for the song to be added to her discography.

Beyoncé Not Being Featured on the Track Title
I'd assume they did that with Rihanna since by listing her in the author field it ties the song to her artist page, while Tove Lo being featured in the track name only ties the song to Coldplay's page. Meanwhile, Beyonce is all but a ghost.

Plan The Ultimate Super Bowl Half-Time Show for Coldplay
Shiver, Midnight, and Atlas are extremely unlikely. I'd say even Fix You has low odds.

Plan The Ultimate Super Bowl Half-Time Show for Coldplay
Definite choices: Viva La Vida. This is the stadium song most will know, and will warm up the Coldplay non-fans. A Sky Full of Stars. Perfect vibe for mass appeal, and just fun in a crowd. Adventure of a Lifetime. Of course. Hymn for the Weekend, likely with Beyonce. Maybes: ETIAW Paradise Birds A Head Full of Dreams Clocks snippet Reworked Yellow I'm not entirely sure they will slow down their set. They have enough uptempo songs to put on an energetic performance.

Rihanna is listed as one of the artists on iTunes for PoC.

Hymn for the Weekend
That's my point. The chorus should carry that line. A lot of people, especially when listening to the radio, won't listen closely enough to not take "I'm feeling drunk and high" literally. It would've been better, melodically even, if it was "I'm feeling drunk on life and high on love"

Amazing Day
I was thinking the same. This is one of the standouts from AHFOD for sure.

Amazing Day
Just a beautiful song overall. The chord progression is even more heavenly than on "Miracles."
-
Hymn for the Weekend
I feel like the song would be better if the chorus carried the verse "I'm feeling drunk on life and high on love." Too many people are going to get the wrong impression once it's released to radio.

X Marks The Spot [HIDDEN TRACK]
This really is not a bad song, but it does feel like an amateurish track with some A-grade production thrown on top. Still dig the vibe.

Yeah, I was disappointed they featured her but didn't give her a real role in the song.

Studio-Quality Version of AHFOD for Sale on HDTracks
For those with the gear to support it, HDTracks has the studio-quality version of AHFOD for sale. The studio quality is of course even higher than high-fidelity like Tidal or CD-quality files. To be frank you would need a really substantial system ($$$$) for it to be worth downloading in this format, but hey: http://www.hdtracks.com/a-head-full-of-dreams-271622

Beyoncé Not Being Featured on the Track Title
Surely Hymn for the Weekend could gain momentum much faster on the charts if Beyoncé was actually credited for being a featured artist in the track title. The band did feature Tove Lo in the title on Fun even though she only provides backing vocals. Perhaps Beyoncé's camp didn't think that she wasn't featured prominently enough to be credited in the title, although she does have a pretty noticeable role. When HFTW is released as a single it is possible they could backtrack and will likely include her name on the song when it's released to radio stations. Is this only bugging me :p? If only because the track could be more popular with her name plastered on it, not that it needs it but regardless.
