LP6
Like, something similar to Fiona Apple?

LP6
Personally, I believe this is due simply to the talent of the band, as they seem to play all of their songs as good, if not better (as with Yellow) live than studio.

Hardest (Heaviest) Coldplay Song
After you mentioned that, I learned 1.36 on guitar. That is quite a heavy song.

LP6
This is exactly how I write songs. It's such a great format. I agree with this. Yes is my favorite Coldplay song, and song in general, as with most Coldplay songs, and Christmas Lights is my favorite Christmas song, and both feature Chris using a lower pitch. I believe he can sing better at a lower pitch. They could do it like Type O Negative and have every song be over 7 minutes.

Hardest (Heaviest) Coldplay Song
I agree that A Whisper is pretty heavy too. So are Daylight and even Shiver a little bit, I think.

Hardest (Heaviest) Coldplay Song
Yes is my favorite Coldplay song. I don't know if it's necessarily "heavy," though, it's more... symphonic, sort of.

LP6
They could always explore Gothic Rock. Or maybe do a whole album of instrumentals.

I'm hoping they do explore more with LP6, and really let loose technically. The skills of all the members should be tested with their new album.

Hardest (Heaviest) Coldplay Song
In your opinion, what do you think the hardest/heaviest Coldplay song is? For me, it's God Put a Smile Upon Your Face. Especially live; it's the only time I've heard Johnny use vibrato.

First Coldplay Song You Ever Heard?
Technically Clocks, since it was on so many commercials back in 2002. Officially though, Viva la Vida.

LP6
I'm guessing that next, they'll have something like "Heart (or Pot) of Gold" or "Fields of Red." Perhaps "Blue Skies Are Here Again." The album title could even involve a color. As for the letter, I'm guessing "R" or "H". Side Note: Fix You has a pretty good bass line, especially live.

I Bid you Hello
Hello to all of you! My name is that of Priest (indeed it is), and I joined this site last night after having heard about it quite a bit ago. I began my liking of Coldplay with the release of Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, and they since have become my favorite band. A Good day to you all. I also feel the need to link this video of mine: A (now considered by myself to be rather outdated) Top 10 Video of Coldplay songs. LP6
With talk of LP6, what do you think the name of it should be? Using the current algorithm established, it's going to have a long title: 1. Parachutes 2. A Rush of Blood to the Head 3. X&Y 4. Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends 5. Mylo Xyloto 6. (Insert Long Title Here) If they continue with this pattern, we can expect another extravagantly long title. Another interesting thing to note is that it seems their longer title albums are arguably better than their shorter ones.

LP6
Surprised no one has mentioned it yet, but my favorite bass line of any Coldplay song, and just about any song in general, is that of Sparks. The whole song is, basically, structured around the bass. As for emotion, I think that the most emotional Coldplay album(s) is/are Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head. However, X&Y is a very good album in my opinion, as are the others. The thing that makes X&Y so great to me is that the individual songs make it a great overall album. A Rush of Blood to the Head was a very complete album; it explored the spectrum of music very well. Politik showed the Hard(er) Rock side of Coldplay, In My Place offered a pop sound, and Clocks and The Scientist were the pinnacles of the album's writing. Because of this, A Rush of Blood to the Head felt like a very complete album, with songs for everything/one. X&Y, however, stayed close together with its arrangements, which is, in my opinion, what made it so great, and arguably my favorite Coldplay album. All of the songs on X&Y feel like they are supposed to be on there. Whether it be because they all have that electronic/synth sound, or because of the writing, it feels like a set. Not that the other albums don't, I just feel that it's more apparent with X&Y. Finally, back to the topic at hand: the 6th LP. The B-Sides from A Rush of Blood to the Head are some of my favorite Coldplay songs, especially I Ran Away. I would love for Coldplay to go back to this sound, but at the same time, I want to see where they go forward. I think that this next album really needs to explore the musical spectrum, as a sort of combination, or rather, culmination of all their previous albums. Chris I believe needs to open his writing up and really attack the songs both emotionally and philosophically (as in lyrical content/message), Guy needs to expand on his attributes as Johnny (or Jonny) has done, and Will, well, his drumming at the end of Every Teardrop is a Waterfall proves that he can do quite a bit of masterful work. Oh yes, how rude of me. I am new; I joined here today. Hello everyone.
