04 January 2005, from Radio 1 Best is yet to come from Foo Fighters Dave Grohl has revealed details on new Foo Fighters' material. He was talking yesterday (Tuesday) to Huw Stevens, who's standing in for Zane Lowe, and told him the band have converted an 8,000-ft² warehouse into a studio and are working on a double album. One disc will be full of rock songs and the other will have tracks to make a grown man cry. It's due out in the summer and Dave's clearly very proud of it: "It's really amazing. The good thing about doing it is that you split it up so that there's no middle ground. So the rock stuff is the most rocking stuff we've ever worked on, ever." "The acoustic stuff will be the trippiest, most beautiful, sleepy music we've ever made, almost like a soundtrack." It's turning out to be really amazing. It's really kind of a departure for us because it's the best music we've ever made, but a lot of it is very different from anything we've ever done."

Snow Patrol learn on the job Snow Patrol are writing the soundtrack for a new movie called 'Love and Hate' - a low budget British film set in a Northern town. It's a love story between a boy from a racist family who falls in love with a Muslim girl and may be screened at the Berlin Film Festival in February. Gary from the band admits writing for films is all new to him: "It's a lot different because you're obviously writing for somebody else's visions or emotions." "You have to try and not be yourself in some ways, but stamp your own identity on it in others." "I'm just learning as I go along, which I didn't tell people when they asked me!"
