  12. Rod cells are photoreceptive cells that dont percieve colour or fine detail-they are really sensitive to light and are in high numbers. Dark-adapted vision in humans is basically devoid of colour because it depends almost entirely on the functioning of rods. so when you can see things at night is cause of your rod cells in the retina :D
