I know, but don't you wanna go from chap. 14 to 15 without reading each sentence, thinking, "This was written by someone else. There's a ten year-difference between this chapter and the last. Let's look for all the inconsistencies in the plot and characters because no two people can have the same writing technique." But that's how people are gonna see it either way, so all you can really do is try your best and hope you don't butcher the story.
