In the last hours before the concert, which takes place this Friday at 20.00 (although the British band only performs at 22.00) at Dragon Stadium, the band walked several blocks in Invicta (=Porto) and even had lunch in the restaurant DOP in Ribeira. Chris Martin spent the morning resting in the Sheraton Hotel in Boavista, where the band is housed since Thursday. For a few hours, several fans of Coldplay were at the door of that hotel unit - and eventually got autographs and photos with their idols. Guy Berryman, bassist, brought to Portugal his girlfriend and the two walked together along Avenida da Boavista. The remaining band members - Johnny Buckland, guitarist and Will Champion, drummer - preferred to get to know that area of Ribeira. And it was right there in the restaurant DOP, where both had lunch. According to the manager of the space, Pedro Paula, "they are very peaceful people and without delusions of superstar." The artists did not have security and came alone. From the menu, they chose simple dishes (fish soup, monkfish and lamb) and did not eat dessert. "Just had coffee and drank water," says Pedro. By late afternoon, Coldplay left the hotel towards the venue. The CM (=newspaper) thinks the band will leave to Madrid - where they will perform on Sunday - after the concert at the Estadio do Dragao. I actually love this acoustic version (it has this awesome nostalgia feeling!) and yesterday here in Portugal everyone was singing along and seemed to love it too. I also think it fits good on the setlist since after it comes Clocks and this two songs one after the other would look too similar.

Joana de certeza que hão-de aparecer!!! Eu como sabia que ia estar na bancada e tenho uma máquina com um zoom péssimo achei melhor ir mesmo desfrutar do concerto sem preocupações. Mas com tantos reporteres e sobretudo com 50mil pessoas alguém há-de ter capturado o momento :).

Eu estava na bancada e tive a sorte de estar protegida da chuva pela pala do Estádio. É claro que perdi a proximidade da banda mas teve de ser. E já agora, o que estavam a distribuir um pouco antes do concerto para as pessoas no relvado eram capas? Elas foram dadas gratuitamente? . Demorei uma eternidade a sair da zona do Estádio!!! O metro estava impossível e taxis nem vê-los.

Yeah that was what I was saying :). I love the poster, it's from the A Rush of Blood to the Head era and it was one of the first fan items I ever had from Coldplay. Haha thanks, I don't think I ever had another since 2005 when I joined the forum. It was my favorite looney tunes character as a child.

^^I meant the first picture, taken from the car they were in, driving to Porto. But thanks for the info anyway :). I'm from Lisbon (melhor cidadee!) but Porto is a beautiful city. I have a poster of the photo in your avatar in my bedroom!

Ouvi isto na rádio de manhã mas estava com tanto sono que nem a palavra coldplay lá pelo meio me acordou. Do pouco que percebi acho que é preciso tirar uma fotografia com uma máscara de um animal e com o CD e bilhetes do concerto na mão. Não sei até quando dura o passatempo nem e-mail para enviar a fotografia. Alguém vai participar? Eu até participava mas não tenho máscara. Is it too early or can we already state that Charlie Brown is not doing so well? I'm kind of tired of Paradise, I thought Charlie Brown would come and Paradise would slowly fade away but now I don't think it is going to happen. Maybe only a certain song featuring Rihanna can fix this. :rolleyes:

a sério? dava na mtv na era x&y. acho que quando começou a dar o cd ainda não tinha saído. acho que é super querido estarem a tocar num espaço tão pequeno com coisas tão básicas. haha confesso que já estava farta daquele da amy winehouse antes da fix you. deste gostei imenso agora, vamos ver se fica durante muito tempo e se me farto!

Olá :) Acho que já tinha visto isso mas não me lembrava de nenhuma das respostas. O Chris diz que as músicas preferidas dele são: politik, yellow, fix you e clocks. Boas escolhas! Espanta-me sempre como ele diz mal da Warning Sign. Para mim é uma das melhores, mesmo que não dê para ser single. Ele agora provavelmente incluiria Viva la Vida e Charlie Brown. Para mim é mesmo muito difícil fazer um top deste género.
