At lunchtime I got in a conversation with a collegue (which I don't see that much) and we were talking about a single release of a Belgian band. At some point in the conversation I was mentioning Coldplay and she got really excited and told me that she had been watching the SB50 Halftime show. And that she really liked the Coldplay part, which was too short to her opinion, and she'd rather not have Beyoncé and Bruno Mars playing. I was like "Oh, you are my friend from now on". :) There probably are a lot of people who really liked the show, but somehow the negative ones are speaking louder than the possitive ones.

This is indeed a nice interview, it is pretty personal and comes in the range of the Howard Stern and Zane Low interviews (both my favorites). I also love the fact that Jonny and Phil add some personal stuff about how they experienced Chris' "depression" and were watching over him. I just had to google it and oh boy, I hope this is not going to stick in his head. Bad idea Chris.

I've read in an article today that the SB Halftimeshow artists are not paid for their performance. Only expenses and production costs are covered. So, the (only) reason they are doing it is to promote upcoming tours or music. And the reason why HFTW was not played, well I can only guess that Beyoncé wanted to promote her new single and playing HFTW together would make 2 songs. Now it was equally divided with Bruno Mars & Beyonce.

I really liked the Coldplay part, but I also saw what I feared that would happen: Beyoncé taking over the show and getting away with all the attention. And surprise, surprise, seconds after the Halftime show she announced an European tour. This quote sums it up for me: "Take heart, Chris Martin: You did what you could.
