I think a lot of people from here will probably enjoy FLIFIL in the context of the record more, like if you guys are not liking much rn. I think some of the criticism are a bit too rough like.. "oh when you know the first chorus you know all the song" I mean...yeah its a single, it is made to do that, like a lot of their singles, I mean yellow doesnt have much to offer Either and it does work so well in the record, dont try to listen to this song expecting a lot of variety, but try to focus on how good is the production and little details happening all around, this song and yellow in terms of structure are basically the same, so yeah since old times coldplay has some very simple singles on its song structures, im sure we will get more complexity on the record, so try to see the whole picture, this song might be just a little tease, the production is very nice and we have a lot of things going on in the background, so these experiments might be more Explored on the record in a more clear way, a side from that this songs works as a single, its catchy, melodic, it does has way more "oldplay" sentiment then a lot of the newplay songs since mylo, so I dont know how people are not seeing this.

This exactly this. I dont know how people are not seeing this, like this is an awsome thing to happen with this band, they could from now on go to a different path, a more rich one, and less generic one. It doenst matter if this song didnt have a lot of guitars, it doesnt matter if this song is not like..a 42 type of song or something like mindblowing, but it does matter that a Coldplay single, in the middle of a pop era doesnt sound really generic or like forcing a genre like ahfod did a lot, we are looking to Coldplay trying to be themselves even in a commercial phase, so this count, cos even if we get pop, we might get a more artsy and interesting pop for the first time, this could means Coldplay are letting go, or at least not being too much attached to charts and trending anymore. Fuck this a great clue and sign, so this counts so much for me is already a win, even if we have like one song more chart friendly, probably good feelings, is ok, even tho I think even good feelings will have something to offer.

If I had to sum up my thoughts and feelings its like: I think the band with this single finally found the right ballance on sounding pop in a organic way, they've been trying since ahfod even mylo, but I think they finally nailed it now, the production is rich, a lot of nice elements in the background. The song just feels organic in a way they sounded from the beggining to Viva. It feels like a more natural continuation if they wanted to sound more pop after Viva, so I couldn't be more happy, it feels sweet, natural and not forced at all, they are not trying to sound like some genre, they are just being themselves wearing pop vibes with it. Beautiful start, excited to where this album will bring us, and based on the soundchecks this could be one of their best albums, or at least top 5, like a very rich experience.

Interesting, for me is more viva than mylo, but Im happy people are connecting with it ^^, its been a while since I was this hopeful with a coldplay album

I bet on the album there will be a lot of moments for Jonny to Shine, for now Im just happy that this single is happening in the middle of a pop era, this is better than a lot ot things coldplay did since viva for me, its better than a lot of singles of mylo for me, is less cheesy, it has more emotion on it, even tho the song is like more chill..its Just make more sense with that band that did viva.

My only curiosity is if the 🌈 is more than one song, like it was on the whiteboard. At the time it was 3 songs, but now m u s i c is apart, so maybe 🌈 is for neon forest and Angel song only, but then if thats the case, what is track number 5? 🤔

Yeah it will be hiphop centered but now one that works and feels interesting and not generic. So I think we can be safe with not being an X Mark the spot kinda of track.

I think it will be better than it sounds, Chris is mumbling on the top, so actually I think is just the beat that is on the record. Besides we had like a soundcheck that was beat centered, but it had jonny guitars mixed with it and it did sound interesting.

That would be the dream cos, it woudnt be just 9 full tracks. I wasnt expecting supernova since we probably have we pray, and we pray already have little simz, it would be strange to have 2 tracks with the same feat I guess

This, exactly this. People are kinda negative but I think as a single, it does sound very coldplay singleish, and its way better than a lot of singles since mylo for me at least. Yeah, its not bombastic or has like a lot of Bridge, but its not that generic pop

Yeah, Ive come to know her recently cos of that magazine saying she would be feature on a track called supernova, so I gave like a little Quick dive on her discography and I was like..damn she is really one of the best rappers Ive listened, and I didnt even Start to dive into rap yet, but like..I have already some plans, some artists to listen to whole discography like Kendrick (Already listened to Pimp a butterfly and it blew my mind), Tyler the creator, JID... and the thing is, she sounded like more interesting than some other famous rappers, her sound is very interesting. We pray sounds at least ambitious, and that is very good, if they managed to put some Coldplay essence in there..than damn..we might have something like a viva 2.0

Im trying not to enter on Phil hype train, even tho we have like some clues that confirms probably (hopefully) on what he is been saying, but Im at least hoping an album more interesting overall than most of theirs pop albums, Im like thinking this album will be better than all pop albums including mylo, and I think even better than EL as Whole, not gonna think about yet if its better than the first 4 golden records, but maaaaybe is better than one or 2 of them..who knows.

Exactly. Little Simz is an arstist that feels like is doing New things in rap/hip-hop genre that one day I will dive in her discography like Kendrick. But is exactly like you said, viva sounded new and different for them at the time but it stills like their golden age, because it was well done and made sense with their sound. So if they've managed to find a way to the the same with this track, like a hip hop/rap track that feels like them and not forced Im all way in, I just want them not to force the genre more than their identity, that was the magic of viva era, you had rainy day that was so different from their stuff overall but it was so them at the same time. I feel like jupiter will be close to rainy day in that sense

I Ive gotta say. Even tho Im little afraid with We pray, if this song like..builds up..and have good guitar passages and nice basslines, and maybe..maybe some exploding drums at some point, this song could be very nice, even if its hip-hop rap centered, I think depending it can please old and new plays, like at least have some nice guitar passages. I kinda like the dark vibes from it

I think we will be surprised. Jupiter is gonna be probably something like viva la vida give the strings, and the guitar of good feelings makes it sounded like a good blend of oldplay and newplay, the only song from the snippet that seems inconsistent is we pray, but we dont know how the song will be as a whole, I think this album can be a relative to viva not cos of the style of songs but they way the band explore them, like listening to all instruments working nicely, only the whole songs will tell, at least I think good feelings even tho its not viva sounding, the guitars make it like their best pop song Ive heard in a while..its very very nice when the guitar comes in, like..it makes all work together and make sense
