Band Aid Ban For Madonna

Featured Replies

Madonna has been banned from the Band Aid III supergroup by Sir Bob Geldof - because she's American.

It's a huge snub for the Queen of Pop, who calls herself an "Anglophile" and lives in London. She had hoped to join Robbie Williams, Oasis star Noel Gallagher, Coldplay and The Darkness to re-record the hit Do They Know It's Christmas?

Madonna, 46, who is married to British film director Guy Ritchie, also missed out on the original 1984 Band Aid appeal to raise cash for starving kids in Africa. Midge Ure - who is wrote the hit with Geldof - revealed: "As Bob says, at the end of the day she's a Yank. We don't need her."

But Ure hopes Madonna will take part in the Live Aid 2 concert planned next year.

well, it's only for British people, if she is bothered, she could do a one involving American Artists? :)

i'd actually like that!, as long as money is being raised

:laugh3:

rightfully so.... and I'm speaking as a true 'anglophile' myself... she shouldn't be on the record....
