COLDPLAY have paid tribute to KYLIE MINOGUE at a show in NEW YORK (May 18).

Singer Chris Martin dedicated the track ’The Scientist’ to the Aussie pop princess, who was diagnosed with breast cancer on Tuesday (May 17).

He said: “This song is for Kylie Minogue. Please get better soon.”

According to The Sun, Martin’s wife Gwyneth Paltrow watched from the side of the stage at the Beacon Theatre as Coldplay performed the first of a series of small warm-up gigs in the US ahead of their world tour.

The band treated fans to a number of tracks from their upcoming third album ’X&Y’ - out on June 6 – including ’Square One’, ’Til Kingdom Come’, ’Low’, ’What If’, ’A Message’, ’Fix You’ and new single ’Speed Of Sound’.

The setlist was:

‘Square One’

‘Politik’

‘God Put A Smile Upon Your Face’

‘Speed Of Sound’

‘Warning Sign’

‘Yellow’

‘Til Kingdom Come’

‘The Scientist’

‘Low’

‘Clocks’
