Who exactly were the spies? Why cant you touch them? I never really got these lyrics to this.

I think that it's talking about insecurties, or past demons of some sort, and how you can keep them hidden, but they'll always be there and you'll have to face them some day, like spies.

 

And it's "Spies" not "spie's". xD
