I dunno how everyone else feels about this but i think that without What If, then X&Y wouldnt be as good as it is? what is you opinion?

That's my opinion as well. I like that song because it emphasises the softer side of the album.

yea exactly and i mean some of their softer songs dont stand out as much but i find it stands out extremely well both to those who have always listened to coldplay to those who rarely do.

Yes, I was always more into the more emotional soft songs...although I dig Politik too, more raw emotion, so to speak.

yea so true that is a great song but i mean i also like the scientist too a song with the majority being chris on the piano but i mean its an amazing song....quiet but a great song :cool:

really thats pretty cool but i mean coldplay knows what to do to get you to like the quiet stuff although most people today like the headbanging so loud you cant hear for a day music :rolleyes:

That was a pretty deep question there mooseheadsfan. And I don't know the answer maybe if What If wasn't on the album, the album wouldn't be such a big hit. What if What If becomes a single? What If?

I'd live. As long as it was replaced by something better, or if the song had a better melody.

yeah, replace What If with Things I dont Understand or Proof and im real happy. I'm still pissed that coldplay isnt playing A Message at the concerts..they're playing What If instead..grr

I wish they would play A Message. I'm sure they could lenghten their setlist.

There's no doubt in my mind that X&Y would be a poorer record without 'what if'.

i actually don't think that much of What If, it is one of the songs that I like more in the album, but i would survive if it were taken out
