Coldplay in Mansfield

Featured Replies

I'm so excited to see the show in Mansfield tomorrow night. Anyone from Hartford know what time Coldplay actually came on last night?

Also, from looking at the setlists I was rather surprised that the band plays nearly the same setlist every night. Not a big deal b/c I'm only going to one show this year, but I think I might be a little dissapointed if I was going to more than one. Any special songs people are hoping to hear tomorrow? I know I'm hoping for Warning Sign and Careful Where You Stand (pretty unlikely).

Also does anyone know if Black Mountain is opening in Mansfield too? From the reviews I read today, I guess I'll skip the opener if it's them.

some lights went out at 9:10 but they started playing at about 9:20. i don't know if the lights going out was intentional. i would highly recommend skipping out on black mountain. if thats who played in hartford cause it was a solo performance and it sounded like a howie day gone bad, really bad.

I agree on people skipping out on the opening act. At the Hartford show, I just felt bad for the person singing. He was so off-key. There was just a white spot light on him and Coldplay's equipment in the background covered with tarps. They could have at least given him blue lighting or something more exciting. . .

Mansfield set-list - Twisted logic tour

I'm pretty sure this was the set-list for Coldplay's 8/06/05 Mansfield / Tweeter Center show...

I went to Hartford as well, and the setlist was either identical or pretty close to this....

wow! your telling me black mountain plays for almost 2 hours?? thanks for the warning! I'll get there a lil before 9 i guess.

Black Mountain was pretty horrible, though I wanted to like them. It seemed as if they just did the age-old trick of playing loud to cover up how bad they are. Seriously, I thought the bass was going to make the roof collapse.

(From a foggy memory) "When I counted up my corndogs/Saw there was one for every beer/I'm tailgating at Coldplay/And there's 18,000 other people here." Classic.

Chris running around the Tweeter Center was hilarious. I was over in the last row of section 8 (farthest to the left when looking at the stage) and when he came past me people started to close in around him; not very smart in terms of almost being trampled to death.

Fantastic show. I just wish that all of the Abercrombie-wearing, sleazy girlfriend-toting jackasses who only went to get drunk and to win points with their date hadn't come.

I'm no wimp but I sent my sweetie out to buy me ear plugs the bass hurt so bad.

Was a great time, very playful and all the guys seemed really "up". The short acoustic set was a treat, as was thier choice of encore songs.

I thought the show at the tweeter center was awesome, especially the end of Clocks. I thought I heard something on my drive there about coldplay being live on the radio. I only caught a second of this, but does anybody know if the concert was played live on one of the local stations?

If so, did anybody get a copy?

Thanks,

i think they were playing the live coldplay cd on the radio, but not live from last night cause it was starting at 8 p.m. on the radio.

i was at tweeter center and i thought it was awesome as well.

when chris took off into the stands during "in my place", that was the highlight. i will say i thought it was lame that the crowd around me was talking throughout the acoustic set, but on a whole, the crowd was pertty into the gig the whole way through. the band were really in top form, the sound was excellent. chris had the whole place singing along quite loud at times, especially during the encore.

Ah, that must have been what I heard then. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Too bad though, I would love to get my hands on a copy from that show. Although, it seems like they do pretty much the same setlist every night so I can probably just get another show and still enjoy it.

I was in section 10, about 7 rows back and chris ran right in front of me when he did the lap around the seats at the end. I thought the crowd around me was into it... I had a friend on the lawn section who seemed dissapointed by the crowd. I thought it was great though, definitly one of the best concerts I've been too. It helps knowing every single song that they played.

I thought the balloons during Yellow were neat. I liked the bands involvment with the crowd.. things like chris making up the lyrics and putting 'massachusetts' into the lyrics, plus his bit about tailgating to coldplay and having a beer and a hotdog were funny.

oh no, i agree the crowd overall was good. you get a few people no matter what show you are at who are not so into it. my sister and i were there together and we were singing along to every song.

this was my first coldplay show and i was very impressed.

I agree, this show was fantastic. I am curious though if any got any audio recordings of it? If so, they should def. be SHARED!

I loved the yellow balloons....

Great show! I picked up a ticket in Section 3 Row K which turned out to be 4th Row. I had never seen them before and just got into them after seeing their Live 8 performance. If they want to be the biggest Rock Band in the world, they are on their way. I read some complaining that 17 songs was not enough. I thought the show paced out very well. Remember U2 plays just 2 hours and very few bands play 2.5 or more ala Springsteen. I can't wait for them to come back as I will def. be there.
