December 3, 200520 yr When you put the likes of George Clooney, Matt Damon, Chris Cooper and Amanda Peet in one movie about the scandolous and dirty network of oil trade, you know this isn't going to be a comedy :D . I must warn you all that Syriana is not for the easily confused, because this movie is confusing, and it may be the most confusing movie as far as plot goes that Ive ever seen in my entire life, but the performances and the all star cast are enough to make this movie incredible. The story follows about 6 different characters during the film, which makes it hard to follow at times. Yet, all of these characters are connected in one way or another, which is really awesome as it just all fits in together like a world puzzle. They're all in the oil trade business, filled with corruption and money, and it shows you another side of our current day affairs with struggles in the oil business. Whether you're Republican or Democrat, I still recommend this movie. This is a very controversial movie, so make sure you're in the mood for some debates among your peers about it :smug:
February 8, 200620 yr Syriana was fucking awesome. I have the poster on the wall in my room. Most people didn't like the movie because it was too confusing, but when you think about it, that's the whole point to the movie. You're put right alongside George Clooney in this movie and you're meant to feel as mystified about this massive web of conspiracy and corruption as he is, as well as all the other characters in the movie too. And the tagline of the movie should be warning enough "EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED".
February 13, 200620 yr Woww!! Amazing movie! I´ve seen it today and I really enjoyed. It´s a bit confusing, it´s true. But if you follow it you can´t take your eyes off anymore! It´s really creep what U.S can do for the oil supply.
February 13, 200620 yr Yea, especially when they blow up the convoy. And the Prince is like "You're the Canadian." To George Clooney, and all of a sudden KABLAM! Scared me. haha BTW George Clooney should win for his performance.
February 13, 200620 yr Yeah, so true! I mean, Geoge Clooney is great. What about the torture scene, when that guy takes off two of his nails...wow! I was petrified! Really scared. My friend almost screamed!
February 14, 200620 yr yea, that part was really creepy, and considering such a wash-up George was in the movie, I actually thought that the guy was gonna cut is head off! I was like "oh jesus, is George gonna die?"
