Is that REALLY an up-right bass I hear? Because I don't think an acoustic bass sounds anything like that.

I don't think it is... unless there's no such thing as an acoustic bass guitar. It definitely sounds acoustic to me.

Well you see... that's what I thought too, but it sounds much more like a plucking noise, not a picking, like on a guitar (As if would sound on an acoustic bass).

 

In case nobody really understands what I'm on about, up-right bass is a larger version of the cello and in jazz and folk it is plucked, not bowed. And to me the bass sounds alot like an upright. I'm listening to the acoustic Japanese gig where Guy had an acoustic bass and they don't sound anything alike.

 

But I could be wrong of course.
