December 20, 200619 yr I feel the need to post something and I wanted to post it here. Here is the thing: After a few years thinking and looking for a chance to study German,I finally found a cool and not expensive school and I sign it. Is a bargain is really cheap and the classes are only the saturday in the afternoon. I will start this January 13 and I will study there 4 hours.Learning the language would take like 24 months, maybe! Everything seems to be fine,I have all my plans for the next year and I was really excited about this. Until today, now there is something that could make me change my plans for the next year. In my work,(I work in a call center),I have the chance to become a coach. That's means,no more calls, more money, but more responsability. The problems is that I have to be available and not have time restrictions. If I take the job and became a coach,I would not be able to study German,at least not in the next year. Those opportunities, are in front of me and the both are really good and I am not sure what to do I hope that you could understand me and I appreciate any advices. Thanks for reading this
December 20, 200619 yr Author Well i think that your career and money is probably more important..but that's just my opinion....it is not possible to study part time whenever you have free time? and also if studying german is something you really want and it will make you happy..then I say go for it!! :)
December 20, 200619 yr Part time is not an option cause now that I could become a coach I would need to focus more in the job. The problem is that the chance of the German lessons are one in a kind,so I am hesitate about what I have to do.
December 20, 200619 yr Author Oh well in that case..go for it alfredo....jobs come and go..you can always get another job after your studies have finished!! If it really is a once in a lifetime opportunity then I would go for it!! :)
December 20, 200619 yr Is not in a lifetime (I hope so),but is really cheap, besides that in the next year we would have a International forum and that make it more interesting. But let me think about that. Thanks for your time

Those opportunities, are in front of me and the both are really good and I am not sure what to do I hope that you could understand me and I appreciate any advices. Thanks for reading this I am here to balance your thoughts. As for the coaching position: [+] Do you want to become a coach? Had you considered being coach before the opportunity was offered to you? [+] Can you keep on going and living with the amount of money you are making now in your current position? Or is there an increased and actual NEED for more money that the coaching position offers? [+] Can you honestly (look inside your abilities) handle the increased responsibility? Will the time allow you to keep up with family and friends? ( I know your family and friends are very important to you.) And now for the German classes. I find that this is difficult to speak of. You wrote that you have been searching for convenient (in schedule AND cost) German courses. THEN ...you found them! You have wanted these classes for a while now. Consider that fact. I can see that it's a tough decision to make...because both things presented themselves at once. Maybe you can make the decision based on which thing you wanted most, and which thing you wanted first...German classes. But ...the coaching position will advance you in your career, if you plan on working there for a while. Maybe you can hope that in your new schedule of work (should you take on the position) you can maybe find more German course later on that you can afford with the new pay raise. It might be more difficult to find the time, though. Which one are you more excited to take on, German classes or the coaching position? Will the German classes help you move forward in your career just as much as having taken on the coaching position? well..I hope that helped and HELLO... I should have said hello first, but I had much to say after I read about your dilema.... I hope you are doing fine and that your family is doing well.
December 20, 200619 yr Will the German classes help you move forward in your career just as much as having taken on the coaching position? That was the first question that came to my mind when I read about your problem....I mean will you do these german classes only for your own or will it change something in your career? I do honestly not really have an advice there.....because currently I'm also in a similar situation where I have to decide if I want to do something that makes me happy (only...) or where I can earn money and be succesful ( but which will also make me happy but maybe not as happy as the other thing....)... heheh however...it's great to hear that you want to learn german so urgently.....;)
December 21, 200619 yr I am amazed for the answers!! Thank you all! Well, starting to answers the questions: 1-I did not wanted to became a coach before, cause this is my first job in a call center,so I had no experience and I thought I was not good for the position. Now I know I was wrong,I can be a coach cause I am good in my job. Now that I have the chance I want to know and probe myself that I can do it.Is not for sure, cause there a a lot of people who want the position, but they will hire a bunch of people too. 2-About the money,is not that important at least not now,but besides the money,I am looking to become a coach because then my work panorama would increase.I will have more chances in better jobs if I become a coach. 3-Normally,I am a little nervous when we talk about responsabilities, but that is because I am just like that. But when I look back in time,I never worked in a call center and now I am in front of a excellent opportunity.Besides that I like the challenges,If my bosses think I can do it,is because I can do it About my family,of course is important,so I have that thing cover for sure. Now the German lessons.........
December 21, 200619 yr German is a dificult language,no doubt about it,even with that I wanted to learn it. I found a "school",if we can call it that way.cause is part of the Goverment,in which goverment offer "scholarships" to people who want to learn languages. They have 4 options: 1-English 2-French 3-Italian 4-German All those languages are in my "to do list" But German is my priority. That is something that passion me since the beginning.I have to be honest,I do not know much about the German culture, even that is a country that I always like. I can not tell why I like to learn languages,is something that I want and I like to do. Learning German would not help me inmediatly in my job,but would do it later. Why german? I am not sure why,I just know that consider is a difficult languages that the other options I decide to start with the difficult. All the things I am doing now are just temporal, cause I would not take German lessons all of my life (I hope so) and I wouldnot be working in the place I am now. Hopefully I can do both,is not for sure, but that could happen. Thanks for the help, honestly this is helping me a lot. I will keep you with more updates
December 21, 200619 yr Oooooooh I like it how you like the german language and the country hehe....:D sometimes I get the impression that we are not really liked in other countries....not that I want to say EVERYBODY doesn't like us.....but I think most of the time people show interest in countries like Spain, England or Sweden..... haah I don't know how to explain what I think...
