Backmasking

Featured Replies

for those who dont know;

A backward message (also known as backward masking or backmasking) is a supposed subliminal message hidden in an audio recording that is only fully apparent when played backwards. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.)

some examples about backmasking:second ones are those heard when listened reversed.

Madonna (Like a Prayer):"Life is a mystery"--->"O, hear our savior satan"

Eagles (Hotel California): "There were voices down the corridor, thought I heard them say, welcome to the Hotel California." ---> "Yeah Satan, he organized his own religion"

Led Zeppelin (Stairway to Heaven): "If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alone now,/It's just a spring clean for the May queen./Yes there are two paths you can go back,/But in the long run there's still time to change the road you're on."--->"Here's my sweet satan/The one whose little path would make me sad whose power is satan/He'll give you 666/There was a little toolshed where he made us suffer, sad satan"

"Your stairway lies on the whispering wind"--->"Because I live for satan"

other songs said to be related with satan:

1- The Eagles / "Hotel California", "This Far Down the Line"

2- Madonna / "Like a Prayer"

3- Michael Jackson / "Beat it", "Morphine",

"Man in the Mirror"

4- AC/DC / "Dirthy Deeds"

5- Rolling Stones / "Tops"

6- Metallica / "Am I Evil?"

7- Beatles / "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely"

if you type "backmasking" or smt like that to google, u can find the audios of these songs and many of others.i listened (and even i tried hotel california in my computer) and i was shocked!!

I think, all these phenomenons base on a simple, psychologic effect, called suggestions.

I know a song which has a real backward message in it: 'Empty Spaces' by Pink Floyd... but I don't have the time to get an example...

well, i don't believe in that crap to be honest ... :dozey:

but there once was a weird story bout some german bloke listening to pink floyd's "Another Brick In The Wall" (not backwards though) and he understood something wrong and then hung himself...

some germans on this board probably know about the story (they showed it on TV a few times)

well, here's the whole story ...

it was a school's caretaker and he raped, abused, killed little kids in his spare time in his loft.

i guess you all know that there are little kids singing in "Another Brick In The Wall".

they sing 'all in all you're just another brick in the wall'

he got it wrong and everytime he listened to the song he understood

'Hol ihn, hol ihn auf's Dach'

which means 'get him in the loft'.

he couldn't take it anymore and hung himself.

when you listen to the song you usually don't hear "Hol ihn, hol ihn auf's Dach" but when you see the phrase and listen to the song, you can hear it.

well, that's what they did on tv. they showed that sentence and you could really hear what that criminal might have heard!

it is weird .~ hope you guys understood it .. ;)

Yeah, I know that story, Grace! (it's unter's dach, by the way ;-))

And that phenomen you're speaking about is called suggestion... just the same phenomen as in those pseudo-backmasking-songs...

I'm not sure if I believ in that stuff but it's very interesting though..

And I think some of these are just in the listeners ears.. so they just hear what they want to hear.

oh, yeah right ... it was "unter's dach" ... :smug:
