Razorlight have slammed rival bands who churn out the same old music instead of creating something new.

 

The band's frontman, Johnny Borrell, says that fans can expect variety on their new album - a sideways swipe at other bands like U2 and Coldplay whom, he claims, play it safe with what they release.

 

He told NME "We're not one to do a formula and then repeat it 10 times, we like to write songs."

 

But Borrell admitted that the album, as yet untitled, is still not musically complete, "There's a couple of songs where there's more work to be done and it's always a worry until you've finished."

 

The deadline to complete the album has been set for two weeks.
