Should they complain?

Featured Replies

Hehe.....well...

I was sitting in a Café yesterday with my friends and we were talking about our class-trip next month to Barcelona!

One friend of mine said: "Oh no,I don't want to go there at the moment,I can't get a happy feeling about it.I don't even have anything nice to wear, because I don't have enough money to buy something new!"

So she was complaining about everything about this trip.

Actually there is nothing about it.

But when I was at home I randomly(does this exist?) thought about it.....

She earns her own money, during the week after school! And she is a smoker.

She and my other friends smoke a lot, I even think the go to work to smoke and to pay their fuel for the car!

And then she is complaining that she doesn't have money to buy some clothes....

Now I'm wondering if this is justified or if there is a reason to complain at all!

I mean there are many people out there whio always have money for cigarettes or other drugs....but then they are complaining about the fact that they don't have money!Maybe that they don't ecven have enough money to live.

Sounds pointless, but it made me thinking!

Yes I know ppl like that,I know one guy who goes to work only so he can spend it on alcohol!!

He would on average consume about 50 to 60 cans a week, plus a bottle of Jim Beam..

SOrry if this is off topic, but it reminded me of him

I don't think this is off topic, because I bet he spends his money more on alcohol thna on other things....

I guess it's their choice to smoke though. And if it means it eats up all their money then I guess it's their loss.

I don't smoke, but I do drink and have a car which takes up so much money. I can still afford holidays though. It's just a question of budgeting. :idea2:

Well I do not drink or smoke anymore,I only drink at parties, but that does not happen that much.

This weekend i planned 2 parties one on saturday night and one on sunday night,I think it will be 48 hours of getting wasted...

I need someone to work for me for a week after!!!

I agree....it is of course their loss!

But then they should stop complaining!

I agree, they should stop complaining. If they choose to waste their money on cigarettes they shouldn't complain about being broke.

^Very true.

Spend your money on whatever you want, but accept any possible repercussions!;)

Well, I've never had my own money, I depend of my mom in this question. I only work in summer sometimes, but it's just a way to spend my time, cos it's hard to earn much money if you're a teen.

Except summer time, mom gives me some money for my needs, like cd's or dvd's. I don't spend much cos we're not a rich family.

Mom works and we can afford some nice things for ourselves, but not cars or drugs, of course. Besides, I've never wanted to buy sigarettes or drugs, I'm a good healthy girl, though I think it's impossible to spend all your paycheck for sigarettes, they're not so expensive here.

What about complaining-of course, sometimes I want more clothes or a new mp3 player, but I understand that I'm actually lucky, cos some students in my school don't even have enough money to by a ticket to the cinema, honestly.

When you live with only one parent it's hard to ask for more than you already have.

Well it sounds like you've got your head screwed on, so well done - especially for resisting the temptation to try cigarettes or drugs! Good move!

Hmmm...Yeah, thanks.

Hmmm...Yeah' date=' thanks.[/quote']

You don't agree??

You don't agree??

I didn't say that.

Well it sounded a bit "dismissive"!
