I'm glad someone back there realized it was a play on 80s TV...those old Lyfestyle fitness shows...cheesy as hell...and definitely meant as a joke!!! I like the relaxed, almost REM feel of this song on the album, and so, I get this video. As for whether I'd like it by another artist, if it was an REM video,I'd love it...I wonder if that's what Coldplay were thinking...

I was shocked by it at first. Now I take it as it is meant to be taken and it's hilarious. Plus they all look so cute in the video. I never took this song to be upbeat though, I thought the music itself may have been, but the meaning behind it was anything but upbeat. I always took the song to be about being hurt and the lyrics are about that, so I didn't think it matched the video very well. In the end though, it's quirky and people talked about it which would lead to more sales for them which is a good thing.

You're right about the lyrics...deep and sad, which is a contrast to the music.

In the part where he sings "Everything I know is wrong...." etc., I always get a sense of sadness and I can relate to those lyrics very well. So I always looked at this song as coming from a sad and hurt perspective, regardless of the music, which seems to juxtapose the lyrics alot. That's why I was surprised at the video, because I thought they would revolve it around the meaning of the song, rather than the sound of it.

it's not so bad and

the old lady is amazing

i think may be it's a charity concert

still think that they can do better than this

I think I should revisit this video again! It feels like it's been ages since I've seen that granny do her little dance

everytime it's on the TV, I change the channel :disappointed:

The first time my friend BArbara heard the song and heart Chris sing 'You really broke my heart', she said 'What do you have to heart-broken about, Chris?'. I guess she figures when you're successful and married to Gwyneth Paltrow, you should have nothing to complain about...lol. Not true.

Lol that's very naive of her.

um...i sorta think its embarrassing...:embarassed:

i think the parts with them performing are great, but the dance-team thing makes me cringe. i think the fact that theyre hardly wearing any clothes makes me the most embarrassed. perhaps if it was a different act....or something.

theres quirky, which is perfectly fine, but then theres flat-out insane. IMO, anyway.

i still maintain that i could have made a better video.

I dont like the video and the song....... I prefer songs like "Swallowed In The Sea"

or "Low".

i find the video slightly disturbing to watch due to the speedo/thong man. its funny but disturbing. ill still watch it though.

...it's not embarassing for me to see this video....actually i don't really care about the video and don't really have an opinion about it...

maybe because i'm not that of a strong Coldplay fan anymore than maybe a year ago...hehe..

and actually...I never really cared about music videos...so..

I like watching a good music video. Anyone ever seen the video to "Sonnet" from

The Verve? One of my all time favourite video.....

I've seen it only once and I don't feel like watching it again so no problems for me.

I forgot to say one thing:

I think it's not their best song so I didn't expect a great video...

however...

I think with X&Y Coldplay didn't improve a lot....imo it is even worse than the albums before....

so the video reflects their development...:dozey:
