Favorite Coldplay concert memory/story

The opening bars of Politik, when I saw the Boys in Amsterdam prior to the release of A Rush of Blood.

Also, the realisation that I'm getting old when I was in the front row and surrounded by teenagers at the Rotterdam concert later that year. :)

i went to my first coldplay concert in dallas...with my girlfriend and the show was amazing. we got there and fiona apple was performing and so we waited whilee she did her stuff on stage. then all the lights went out....for about 3 min so everyone was like crap coldplay isnt going to perform, then all of the sudden the digital clock comes on the screen and you see the out line of 4 guys walking onstage.. you could tell which one chris was because of his skipp in his step lol it was an amazing concert....another good moment was when chris went into the chorus too early in till kingdom come and dropped the f-bomb and they had to start over

this is quite sweet, short and simple.

during the recent tour a lot of the songs sang (yellow, trouble, fix you etc) that chris prompted the audience to sing (and we did on cue) was amazing. more so, when we did chris gave a little grin and glanced at jonny everytime ... it's a great memory! i absolutely loved it and won't ever forget it :nice:

First Kiss with a girl i liked. I took her to the concert on September 9th in Raleigh, NC (2005) and right at the end of Fix You, everyone sang the end lines, brings tears to my eyes everytime i think about it, but right at the end I kissed her, the world stopped. It could not have been more perfect. It was my first Coldplay Concert and i dont remember much at all except for feelings.

In that type of situation, endorphins are so high that thay block memories from forming. I do remember the kiss.

Also, the best feeling is, everyone is right, when the lights go out, the crowd erupts with furious, passionate intensity. Everyone stands, the screen flashes a brilliant white with black numbers... you see dark shapes move out onto the stage. A second or two later, "You're in control, is there anywhere you wanna go?" Chris's cool voice, youve heard it a million times before, but there he is! Sillouetted against the white screen, leaning back, rocking slowly to the "kacha kacha kacha" of the 'Square One' background layer, echoing through the arena. You surge with emotion, you scream, but you cant for long, youre breathing too hard, its too much to take in. The first explosion of sound occurs, Chris is flying through the air, towards front center. The curved screen explodes in unison with color, awe-inspiring.

The lights dim at the end of 'Square One' and you think, not conciously, "this. is going to be. awesome."

Then it hits you.

Lights blare, sound erupts, and the pounding, non-fragile sounds of Politik engulf you. By the second beat you catch on. Strobes that would make an epileptic keel over flash to and through the audience, creating four shadows from four band members, all rocking to their own sounds. Chris bent low over the sacred keys, rolling back and forth, absorbed. The last blast sounds, a spotlight shines, and the strobes die. "Look at Earth from outer space..." Amazing.

I will never forget.

hahaha' date=' at earls court when chris ran backstage at the end of in my place, it took him ages to come back for fix you, there was king of a gap, so i did the same thing and started yelling "guy, guy" at him and he smiled and nodded then as well! thats hilarious you did the same thing[/quote']

At Earls, he ran to the back of the crowd and he took awhile, sang a bit and took awhile getting back. The whole gig was awesome. What happened next is in another thread.

Went up to Cleveland in March, right over my spring break. Bought the tickets closer to the show than I would've cared, but I got 'em. Long trip, but worth it. The clicked that night, and once the crowd got into it (I was the only one around me singing more often than not!) there was incredible energy. Jon Buckland was incredible, especially on God Put a Smile Upon Your Face. And best of all, I spent the entire day with my girlfriend, and by the time we got back to Columbus, we were rather loopy...

Oh, was it worth it...
