  1. I hear ya. The floor is really only good if you are in the front third, closest to the stage. Other than that it gets kinda annoying.
  2. So ticketmaster was slightly annoying, but I got tickets. I tried to get good floor seats, so my first try came up with seats in the very back of the floor... obviously I couldn't accept that so I tried again and after my 4 minute wait time they were all gone on the floor. So I settled for lower-level seats in Section 8... not exactly the closest but at least I'll have a good view of the stage. This'll be number 3 for me! So excited.
  3. Could someone upload this through Rapidshare or some other file-sharing site? I'm having trouble with the ones provided. With all this talk... I gotta hear it!
  4. Ah, ok thanks for clearing that up. Thats cool that someone else was playing the guitar in the Live 2003 performances... I always wondered how they got the timing to be so good. But I am pretty sure that Politik live uses a backing track. In the album version, you can hear a string/synth background, and you can hear a similar sound when they play live; watch the How We Saw the World footage, its in there as well, and I dont think the band brings with them a small quartet of string players, much less an orchestra. And how, may I ask, does Guy play his Mini Moog when he is walking onstage to his instruments? I have been to 2 live performances by Coldplay, and both times, the clicking intro for Square One started just as the band was walking onstage, from under the screen. Maybe he plays it later, and at the end of the song, but unless he carries the moog in his pocket the whole time, there has to be a backtrack to Square One at some point. And of course im not saying that these backtracks take away from the band, but the question was raised "Do they use backtracks?", not "Do the backtracks take away from the band?" Thats all im saying...
  5. The only reason i can see for it being 'not as good' as some of their other concerts was just the size of the venue. Coldplay is such an energy-driven band, and even with the amount of energy that they put out, some of it can be lost because of how big the arena is. Im not saying that there wasnt enough energy, im just saying that coldplay's amount of energy, combined with the size of the arena make it hard to capture on film. Having said that, I dont believe it for a second. It was an awesome concert, full of every ounce of energy that Coldplay could muster.
  6. Most of the tracks from X&Y have synth in the background on the album versions, and the ones that they play live from X&Y usually do as well. It all depends on what you classify as "backing tracks." For instance, Square One performed live definitely has computer-controlled sounds, such as the drumstick sounds sta the beginning and end. Politik has a synth track just as in the album version. Speed of Sound has a backtrack in the album, but im not too sure about the live versions. Talk definitely does, as its the opening sound to the track anyway. Swallowed in the Sea does, but its played softly. I think What If does, but dont hold me to that. Clocks also does, without a doubt, as the verses are mainly drums and synth driven. Obviously, in Live 2003, Yellow is played with a backtrack, unless Chris was magically playing an invisible acoustic guitar while singing with a mic. The reason most people dont notice it is because all the album versions have them too (obviously, or why would they use them live?), so it doesnt sound that different. The idea of a backtrack is just that, its in the background. If its there you dont notice it, but without it, the song sounds completely different.
  7. Ah yes that reminds me... At the end of "How you see the world" the camera switches to a shot from right behind Guy, and a camera flash from the audience shows us a sillouette of him, since the stage lights blacked out. Soo cool.
  8. Hey guys, we all know how awesome the Toronto DVD could have been, since im sure most of us have seen the footage via the Multimedia forum, so I ask you: What is your favorite part of the toronto concert? And i mean anything, like camera angles, add-ins of lyrics, crowd moments, anything. Personally, I like the bridge of Politik, where Chris welcomes everyone and then goes into the end of the song, singingthe lyrics from the piano-only part of the Politik from AROBTTH. Then, I like the second verse of "Yellow", with the different notes.... Then I like the way Chris and Johnny sing "We dont wanna be mad trapped! We dont wanna be shrink-wrapped!" In "How you see the world".... My favorite camera shots happen between 29:45 and 30:00, the chorus of "What if" when Chris tells everyone to turn on their cell phones, and you see the crowd from their point of view, the sea of the crowd, illuminatued by cellphone backlights... then when they show Chris at the Piano and Johnny by his side, with the yellow lights streaming out around the piano, towards the crowd... just amazing. Then I like the beginning of "Swallowed in the Sea", with Chris just singing acapella. And who cant like the end chorus of "Fix You"? All the voices are clear, and the crowd is amazing for the end lines. Thats my $.02, anyone else?
  9. Any chance we could get a re-post of the Live Version? I havent heard it... and I really want to... thanks in advance. Edit: Nevermind.
  10. So does anyone know WHEN the performance will be televised? And on which chanel?
  11. The reason videos probably wont work is because Quicktime has to be updated as soon as you install iTunes 7.
  12. Again, could someone please upload A Ghost and Gravity? Thanks...

I second Politik. It was wirtten on September 12th, and modified for A Rush Of Blood to the Head. Listen to this song with headphones and you really feel the passion.
  14. First Kiss with a girl i liked. I took her to the concert on September 9th in Raleigh, NC (2005) and right at the end of Fix You, everyone sang the end lines, brings tears to my eyes everytime i think about it, but right at the end I kissed her, the world stopped. It could not have been more perfect. It was my first Coldplay Concert and i dont remember much at all except for feelings. In that type of situation, endorphins are so high that thay block memories from forming. I do remember the kiss. Also, the best feeling is, everyone is right, when the lights go out, the crowd erupts with furious, passionate intensity. Everyone stands, the screen flashes a brilliant white with black numbers... you see dark shapes move out onto the stage. A second or two later, "You're in control, is there anywhere you wanna go?" Chris's cool voice, youve heard it a million times before, but there he is! Sillouetted against the white screen, leaning back, rocking slowly to the "kacha kacha kacha" of the 'Square One' background layer, echoing through the arena. You surge with emotion, you scream, but you cant for long, youre breathing too hard, its too much to take in. The first explosion of sound occurs, Chris is flying through the air, towards front center. The curved screen explodes in unison with color, awe-inspiring. The lights dim at the end of 'Square One' and you think, not conciously, "this. is going to be. awesome." Then it hits you. Lights blare, sound erupts, and the pounding, non-fragile sounds of Politik engulf you. By the second beat you catch on. Strobes that would make an epileptic keel over flash to and through the audience, creating four shadows from four band members, all rocking to their own sounds. Chris bent low over the sacred keys, rolling back and forth, absorbed. The last blast sounds, a spotlight shines, and the strobes die. "Look at Earth from outer space..." Amazing. I will never forget.
  15. From which collection is the jacket from? If i recall correctly, you were the lucky one to catch Chris' jacket at a concert right? Such good luck you have.... :)
