XM two steps forward, one step back

XM (XMSR) couldn't have asked for a better day than yesterday (well ... they can ask) as news of a deal to sell a CD of music cuts taken from XM's "Artist Confidential Series" throught Starbucks (SBUX) coffee stores was announced right on the heels of the Alltel cellular deal.

The CD will feature live performances for the XM progam by Coldplay, Willie Nelson, Tori Amos, Bonnie Raitt, Joan Baez, Bruce Hornsby and Cyndi Lauper among others.

Today however, XM must content with an FCC request for more data on certain radio receivers which has sent the stock back down below the $11 mark, -0.44 (-3.94%) to $10.74 mid-afternoon. Motley Fool's Rick Aristotle Munarriz discusses creating addition revenue streams beyond the subscriber base for satellite radio operators in general yesterday's deals in particular.

I love Starbucks - everyone calls me a stupid Starbucks freak who pays way too much money for a coffee, just because it says "Starbucks" on it. But believe me, I've never seen something CLOSE to the DELICIOUS Frappucino, I love it!

And I just love the atmosphere in its shops, and especially its music! It's just comfortable and wonderful.. They once played an instrumental Jazz album, where the melodies of popular songs were played, and one of the songs was Coldplay's, it sounded brilliant!

Are you being paid for this??:P

12 songs for 20 bucks Canadian?!?!??!?!! :stunned: Complete and utter rip-off to me. Drop it down to 10 and I might consider it. Also to those who might say so - I don't care about the rarity or exclusivety of the songs - 20 bones is too much for a cd nowadays.
