A friendly warning from your friendly neighbourhood Mimi

Featured Replies

Hello :D

Just thought I'd tell/warn you that I discovered two days ago that £500 was missing from my bank account. So naturally I panicked, calmed down and cancelled my card and then trotted off to the bank to see what had been going down.

The culprit? Someone had managed to hack into my paypal account and spend all my money on betting sites and calls to Luxembourg

Anyway...I know just cos it happened to me, doesn't mean it'll happen to you and it's quite rare but it is possible so keep an eye on your paypal accounts.

Oh thanks Mimish...that is rather worrying!!!

:o Bloody hackers!!!

aww Mimi, I'm sorry to hear that and thanks for the warning :/

Did you fall foul of entering your details on a dodgy paypal 'lookalike' site?

oh damn!

that would make me bite my arse

No not at all, I've been using it for years...just to buy stuff off ebay now and again.

But it was them who froze my account because they noticed unusual activity I later found out.

I spoke to someone from paypal and they were very helpful. There's an option on there to open a dispute on transactions made and they're currently investigating it.

mimi, that's terrible! good thing you caught it.

i'm always terrified that someone will steal my debit card or something and use it.
