Shoppers scuffle to get their hands on garments

 

 

 

Scuffling broke out at H&M stores in London today as its exclusive Viktor & Rolf range sparked a shopping frenzy.

The Dutch designers' collection went on sale at 9am with scores of women queuing three hours before doors opened.

When they did open, the six stores selling the clothing range descended into pandemonium. Jenny Matthews, 36, from Putney, said: "There was literally a tug of war over a black trench coat, which one lady picked up off a banister but someone grabbed it back off her. It was mad."

Customers were scooping up as many as 10 items, with some admitting they were looking to sell it on internet auction site eBay for a profit.

Prices range from £9.99 for tights to £219.99 for a wedding dress. Within hours of them going on sale two of the wedding dresses were already being offered on eBay.

This week Gap stores in the capital experienced similar scenes as scores tried to bag designer Roland Mouret’s exclusive line at the store.

Some of those items have already received eBay bids for more than double the retail price.

The store should have put them on eBay themselves :dozey:
