An unlikely alliance of George Michael and the Crazy Frog is set to give X Factor a battle in the race for the Christmas Number 1 this year.

To celebrate George Michael’s 25th anniversary gig, the Crazy Frog has recorded his rendition of the Wham's 1984 hit single 'Last Christmas' as a tribute to the 1980s icon.

Released on December 11th on Tug Records the Crazy Frog's version of this festive classic looks likely to repeat history and give him yet another chart topper - after all if he can keep Coldplay off the top spot who's to say that the he can't topple X Factor?

Wham's 'Last Christmas' was originally released in 1984 and reached No. 2 in the UK charts, one notch below Band Aid's charity anthem 'Do They Know It's Christmas?'.

George Michael's newly released greatest hits album "Twenty Five" just went straight to No.1 in the Official UK Album Chart.

The single, which includes party B-sides 'We Wish You A Merry Christmas' and 'Nellie The Elephant' (interpreted as only the Crazy Frog can), is accompanied by an animated video to.

The Crazy Frog has sold 150,000 copies of his first album 'Crazy Hits' and 700,000 singles in Britain- his debut single 'Axel F' was number 1 for 4 weeks in the UK charts and he made a Top 10 appearance in the singles charts this summer with his football anthem "We Are The Champions".

Mr Frog's recording career has since notched up 28 number 1's throughout the world, including 3 months at number 1 in New Zealand and 3 months in France where 'Axel F' alone has sold 1.6 million copies. The USA has also embraced our friend where sales are in excess of 800,000 units! Not bad going from a humble beginning.
