The widow of Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin has taken her two children to a psychologist following concerns daughter Bindi has been "so happy" despite the death of her father.

Terri Irwin revealed she had wanted eight-year-old Bindi and her two-year-old brother Bob's emotional states assessed. "I met with a psychologist and that's been a tremendous help for me," she said.

"I asked him if everything was OK, because Bindi has been so happy. And he said, 'Why? Are you worried? That's what you are shooting for. That's what you want - a well-adjusted child who can handle a tragedy and see that life goes on'."

Mrs Irwin, 42, said Bob had not coped with his father's death as well as Bindi had. She also revealed plans to step into her husband's shoes and take over crocodile shows at the family's Australia Zoo on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

Irwin died after being struck in the chest with a stingray's barb while filming a documentary on the Great Barrier Reef on 4 September.

... bindi is happy after her father had died? that is weird :s

well, actually i'm happy for her, because, otherwise, she would be suffering a lot ...

Hmm odd....

It is odd, but we all handle death differently. Maybe Bindi is thinking about all the good times they had together, and not focusing on the fact that he's gone...

I don't think it's odd at all..specially when they are still young. She doesn't miss him now.. but she will when she grows up or maybe wish he would be alive to make memories with him.

When you are young and growing up... you forget very fast. It's almost as asking someone if they remember the first months when they were born..

^^^^Yeah that makes sense..later on she will miss him.

she may handle her feeling in the different way ...i think

I'm not a psychologist, but this is definitely more worrying than when she would be extremely sad.. Because she obviously swallows down the pain and ignores it.. She acts like nothing's wrong, and this is gonna flood over her one day!
