Pop princess Kylie Minogue has separated from her boyfriend, it has been announced.

The singer and French actor Olivier Martinez confirmed in a statement they were no longer a couple.

They said the decision to separate was mutual and added that they remained "very close friends".

A joint statement released on behalf of the pair read: "Olivier Martinez and Kylie Minogue have officially confirmed that they are no longer a couple.

"They have made it clear that the decision to go their separate ways was mutual and amicable.

"The media's false accusations of disloyalty have saddened them both. The two remain very close friends."

In recent weeks, rumours have been circulating as to the state of the couple's relationship after Martinez was rumoured to have been seen with other women.

The French actor was reportedly spotted at Hollywood's Chateau Marmont with Israeli model Sarai Givati and most recently with actress Michelle Rodriguez.
