4th Album Journal Entry

 

^ Haha, it's alright.

 

Well, "Leftrightleftrightleft" sounds interesting (as I'm thoroughly fascinated with opposites,

like Chris, and especially handedness and all that stuff :P)

 

And "Cemeteries of London" sounds melancholy yet intriguing.

Guess we shouldn't really judge their new album already just based on the song names anyway....

 

Still, I find it hard to believe that the album might be roughly the same length as "Parachutes" (41 - 42 minutes).

 

But with Coldplay it's quality and not quantity that matters.... Ah! I can't wait! :)

yeh..im not too fussed about the time length, im sure it'll be great!

Did they mean that the independent songs won't be on the album...or do they mean that there will be at least 2 singles from the album?

 

If its the first option...do other bands do that? Release singles that are stand-alones?

Coldplay promise 'no fat' on fourth LP

 

Coldplay have revealed some information about their upcoming fourth studio album in a note on their Web site, using sports metaphors to describe the process of picking the tunes. "Expect a short, concise record with no fat and at least two top-division songs released independently," the handwritten note explained. "[Our] feeling is that the album should be made up of the nine best records. If that means eight thrash-metal tracks and one ballad, then so be it." Among the songs being considered for inclusion are: "Lost!," "Cemeteries of London," "Violet Hill," "Poppy Fields," "42," "Yes!" and "Leftrightleftrightleft." According to the note, after a month off, the group is a few months from finishing recording in Barcelona, Spain, for an album it expects to be no longer than 42 minutes. ...
