Even goalie scores a hat-trick as every player in U13 team scores in 24-0 win

A junior football team have set a new record after every single member of their squad, including the goalie, scored in a mammoth 24-0 win.

The huge scoreline fell just short of the FA's record of 26 but the Under 13s side smashed the previous record of eight different players scoring in one game.

The match, played on a cold Sunday morning, contained an average of a goal every three minutes - with the team being chopped and changed so every player had a chance to play up front.

And the goalie even scored a hat-trick.

Bridlington Rangers Blue U13s obliterated their opposiont, Hutton Cranswick United, in the Hull Boys Sunday League in East Yorkshire when the record was set.

Managing team Simon Moreland and Ian Steward looked on with pride as the destructive youngsters, who were playing away from home, raced into a 14-0 half-time lead.

Ian said: "From the start we dominated and the goals just kept coming.

"We weren't in our half for the entire match. Whenever the goalkeepers kicked out the ball one of our players managed to snaffle it.

"As the goals were flying in the defence had very little to do so at half-time we brought our keeper out and changed a few other positions."

Keeper Ryan Chapman, biting his fingernails during the 35-minute first half, was brought on and managed to card a second-half hat-trick.

The boys have been playing together since they were an Under-7s unit and are now brimming with confidence as they climbed to third in their league.

Ian added: "The real winners though had to be Cranswick for sheer determination and team spirit. Lesser teams would have packed up and gone home at half-time.

"It has even been known for one or two of our players to give up when we have been losing 3-0."

A spokesman for the FA said: "The most scorers we do have on record is from an FA Cup game in 1887, when Preston North End beat Hyde United 26-0, and there were eight different scorers."

Who's freephone-a-crouch at the back? Never mind him, isn't John Hartson a bit old for U13s football? :stunned:
