January 4, 200818 yr :PPlease Post your opinions, feelings, and knowledge about the candidates, and the event(s) here. Bring caulk to fill in the cracks, too!:) (the future of the flea world is being chosen tonight, so let's hear some rousing speeches!!):laugh3:
January 4, 200818 yr ^i figure that will be the outcome as well. huckabee scares the crap out of me, but obama is my absolute favorite candidate out there. he has my full support, and i hope he emerges as the democratic frontrunner.
January 4, 200818 yr according to a CBS (Where you not only CBS, you hear it,lol) update about 30 seconds ago, that's exactly the outcome so far.
January 4, 200818 yr actually, I had 2 dreams about obama. And it's very rare that I have dreams about real people. I believe he will be the next president.
January 4, 200818 yr Author Newshour's newshounds weren't sure if all the Obama supporters would turn out.. I'm hoping for an Edwards come-from-behind victory, per the inverse relationship curve (the less easy money they take, the more honest they are;)). Well, hoping, at least! Maybe, as things progress during the compressed primary season, the Dems will coalesce around one better candidate to beat out the big money-influenced candidate(s). On the Republican side, I think Huckabee might have it as well. He seems like a down-to-earth fellow, as opposed to their usual line-up of characters.. (It can only get better, since our Gov't. is pretty much at the bottom of the pickle barrel!)
January 4, 200818 yr Author I like Obama too - it's just the money influence that's concerning me. Investment firms, like Goldman Sachs, have put into his campaign some sacks of money, and I just feel that the housing bubble (which is partly a wall-street fiasco) is somewhat the result of this influence peddling. But he's sharp on foreign policy, and Obama says the right things! His vote against the war was the right thing to do, I feel, and he understands the core values of our tattered constitution. I wish he would have stood up and fought harder for reform in the Senate, instead of choosing to be "one of the club". Maybe this will all change if he gets the nomination? Congress has an approval rating in the teens last I heard, so he ought to smell the coffee, so to speak, and do what's in our best interest. Anyhow, he very well could become pres.!!:)

What scares you about him? He's way off base for me on Women's Rights issues - is that it??
January 4, 200818 yr i think obama and romney will win... I hope huckabee gets nominated because then the democrat will win the election. Unfortunately, my man Biden doesn't have a shot. My next choice is Obama, even though i'm slightly worried about where he stands on israel.
January 4, 200818 yr ^ we are talking about the end of the world :) That made me laugh out loud...:P I'm glad that Obama is in the lead currently. I think his ideals are really great, and what he would do for the country is right. Hopefully I'll get his book 'Audacity of Hope' soon. As for Huckabee...well, it was inevitable he'd be in the lead, with Romney coming in second.

Mormons are scarce outside of Utah, so this could be the vote that tips the scale for them. Biden's great on foreign policy & honest; wish he could win too!! Hmm.. Obama on Israel - I would guess, since he's a graduate of the University of Chicago, he's probably pretty smart about finding a better working policy in the Middle East to reduce tensions. Hawkish policy tends to backfire, and he's got to have more insight than our current bunch of bananas. Could you be more specific??

Yes, the Audacity of Hope - I'll have to borrow it from a neighbor soon. He sounds honest and intelligent, with common-sense ethical integrity; hope he keeps a fire in his belly to change things!! The first couple of months are when he'll have to reform the system, as congress usually gives the benefit of the doubt to the President after the election.. If he wins the presidency, he will probably be the fastest rise to the White House since Washington!;)
January 4, 200818 yr Yay!! The end of the world... My turn to talk about things you've never heard of... OMG! I hate Kevin Rudd! Lol, Rove Mcmanus, what a personality. Tony Abbot, he set fire to a church full of puppies. :laugh3:- Isn't Tim Cambell such a Downer...speaking of Downer...Julia Gillard has red hair...Mills...when will you learn, recording youself playing guitar and then bringing the CD into class for all of us to here was not a good idea....speaking of Mills, he should know what you guys are talking about because he used to live in America... John Butler- he's environmental...
January 8, 200818 yr What scares you about him? He's way off base for me on Women's Rights issues - is that it?? huckabee mostly scares me on what he thinks about gun control. i think gun control needs to be much, much stricter than it is, whereas huckabee seems to think that it needs to be more lax. in that respect, he scares the crap out of me. apart from the caucus (because its over now), obama seems to be gathering more speed than anyone expected and it makes me wanna DANCE
