What are you thinking right now?
We are as changeable as the flowers in each season, or the sounds accompanying nature's rhythms. But as sure as the bees have their appointed rounds and their favorite flowers, so do we.

Hi from Germany
Guten tag! Glad you decided to join in, I'd love to check out your songs & will have to do so tomorrow, as of the moment I am slowly drifting off to sleep this side of the Atlantic. I sense now all that is was meant to be, play those harp strings sweetly and enjoy the variety show here! ;)

What are you listening to?
It's us against the world; but the body is all one, it just takes a little time for the giant to sense what the little toe is feeling and the ears are wiggling for. As we weave in and out of the fabric in the tapestry, a larger picture unfolds before the mind's eye, and releases new inspiration unto the patterns in the universe. Our destiny is that which is predestined to be, a mystery ship until it reaches the shore, but from the outlines a picture emerges long before it's heralded arrival.

The Awesome Random Posting Thread
From many directions do all the caravans converge, and from many directions the gem is cut; and out of this arises the beauty of sharing the riches to which the eye and ear take in, and all the mind's storehouses can hold. If you can see seven generations ahead, remember also the seven generations before, for all that is arose from all which came before, and from us all that will arise beyond. From each drop of water in multiple waves arises the rivers, lakes, fishes, birds, grain, and mighty oceans; we are awash in a sea of plenty, our works can vanquish forever hunger and thirst, create paradise out of parched earth, resurrect rainforest where the sands of time now wash over the land. It is our destiny to reshape the ball of clay as God's hands shape our souls.

To keep catching good vibes and good dreams and be sending more along; good vibrations throughout the universe, and whatever posses me otherwise may I bend it strait again, mending tackle and fabrics frayed from the harsh storms which buffet our lives. If it is a gift and life is a ship, then so I must be careful with the precious cargo which rests within this spirit's hold. From many facets are we of this one gem called humanity.

Violet fades to blue though I'm still in love with you, Never comes the day when the sun will fade away, lift the rivers from the well, let them flow like milk and honey through the valley of clover, for in our innocent dreams comes the sweetest thoughts of all; when all is forgiven, and the lamb of peace sits in the meadows below.

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter J.J. Cale dies at 74
The blues are the roots, all those blues artists deserve the credit, that's for sure. I had heard about Cale from a friend who took inspiration from his works as well. "they call me the breeze" is such a fun song to listen to, he really hit the resonant frequency with so many listeners, I think I'll go have a listen in his honor!!

What have you learned today?
don't ever think that you're not clever! Inspiration comes in bursts, and we all have down days to contend with. I am pleased to announce that scientists are working on short-crop cacao, which makes perfect sense - nobody's growing cacao trees for lumber, so short trees means more cacao plants and pods per acre, which might just take some pressure off the land use issues surrounding cacao tree plantations. Chocolate lovers have reason to celebrate!!! :)

and I haven't a clue of the aforementioned , but I do believe a splendid ceiling is worth it, simply because looking up inspires us. I often thought that scaling down the grand ceilings to fit into homes would really brighten up our places and lift spirits, though a bit of a task to complete one.

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter J.J. Cale dies at 74
Glad to see some recognition for the roots behind all the fine-tuned music we've been hearing all these years, albeit posthumously - thanks Tracy for the post! Noodling with no phone maybe isn't all that bad then... ;) J.J. Cale's licks forever woven into the tapestry of rock and roll.

Egypt's military backed by mass protests overthrows democratically elected President Morsi
When the Egyptian economy came down after the start of the revolution, I would imagine a great many citizens are frustrated, and in confusion misled? I think of the Iranian revolution, and how so many student protesters were duped by the revolutionary regime. Intolerance is never a good sign, and that sets the stage for further repression... but behind it all is the question of who really is the military working for, will Egyptians get a hold of their government for real, and will more moderate voices gain the respect they deserve? I just hope Egyptians know we are on their side, as much of our foreign policy is controlled not by our will, but by a few with tremendous wealth who have hijacked our government for personal gain and global hegemony. No more of this "now let's see you and him fight"

Arguments
Actually, I have to agree with you Greg; befuzzlers dazzle with pazzaz, to sell themselves mostly, and I wonder what the learned men like Voltaire or Descartes would have said about this? I feel that way about economics especially so.

This thread should be "Post what you were thinking before you read what everyone else was thinking!" ... I was listening to our local mix-it-all-up-from-every-era station, listening to Chicago's Baby what a big surprise, checked it out on YouTube, and to my surprise it was the album cover with an old map of Chicago, with Evanston and Wilmette at the top! I know, not quite New York, or even old York, but it's the second city that get's the cheese!;)

Thus earth minerals in the form of NaCl from desalinated seawater, clays for bauxite and thus aluminum and iron, silicon from sand or quartzite for silicones and glass types, and water from the beach wells completes the cycle, power from the sun growing the system. In the end, a vast system of growing fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, chickpeas, fiber crops, and the like can take shape in places which were formerly inhospitable to man, and provide a self-priming pump, an engine to an economy based on common elements and virtually limitless solar power. What else may be in need, such as phosphorous which is limited today might be found in deep ocean sediments, as well as trace minerals lacking from region to region. Given the growth in prosperity possible, one could imagine equatorial regions going from the poorest places on earth, up to the richest! At least in what really counts, health and happiness in life.

Yea really, University tuition is way too expensive, I agree. Things need to change. * I was on the wavelength of green economy and common elements thinking.. Trying to stitch together some thoughts on how to fit the puzzle pieces together.. So, if we were to green the deserts, that takes the solar infrastructure, and to make that happen, probably solar thermal electric generation in the short run until solar silicon photovoltaic production is fully krausened in the equatorial latitudes, but either way, a tremendous amount of aluminum would be used either in reflective surfaces, or in structural materials. Aluminum: A Modern Nontransition Metal To make that, using the concepts of common elements and safer processes, I looked back at the methods of Whoehler and Deville, Deville's seems more promising in that NaCl from the sea for instance is used to make sodium and chlorine, where the chlorine converts the alumina to aluminum chloride, and the sodium then acts as a reducing agent to produce aluminum metal, and the salt reformed then can be recycled in the process. It seems to avoid the problems of carbon electrode loss and greenhouse gas emissions, but probably uses substantially more energy, which is OK in equatorial regions since this wouldn't be the limiting step in the reaction, so to speak. Thus, enough materials could be produced to yield the infrastructure and grow the system, given the byproducts found in the red mud would be useful as well to produce iron for tubing and silicates convertible to silicones for flexible seals and the like. But I also pondered enzymatic pathways to use engineered enzymes to create the needed results, as the activation energy is often much less and the risks significantly lower, though the technology to make that happen is refined to a high degree as well.. What either pathway offers is the advantage of not relying on rare and riskier elements and their compounds (the fluorine-rich cryolite used in the current process, or mercury amalgam in one of the original processes), and would offer a way around the emission of greenhouse gas carbon compounds as well. Anyhow, just musings!

NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden requests asylum in Equador - will he make it?
No administration wants bad press, since it's hard to keep such things secret after John Perkins blew the lid on what the US government/multinational plutocracy had been doing all those years. Yes, quite the irony! Preventing Orwell's nightmare is the goal, since privacy is in part the right of protection against abuse by the powerful who use information gathered on individuals to suppress basic freedoms, destroy reputations for personal gain, intimidate those who oppose tyrants, and ruin political careers, among other things. Democracy Now! had an excellent news piece on Eric Snowden's disclose of NSA information gathering, including information gathered en-mass on Brazilian citizens as well: http://www.democracynow.org/
