I had a boyfriend who I actually dumped but when we talked about it we agreed it was a mutual breakup, so anyway he goes to a different school but he told everybody in my grade that he dumped me and I was crying after. But people believed me and ohh man I got him back soo bad.... that's a really long other story though.

I'm doing my project on women's movement and flappers, and these guys in my class totally dissed it and said it was lame because it was about women.

 

And then one of them is having this goal to try to get me so angry that I'll slap him by the end of the year, and he's been saying all this mean, sexist things and talking about me behind my back.

 

He's so fucking immature. How is old he, 5?!?!?!?!?!?!? I just can't believe this is happening to me now. I went home crying the other day, and I cried in class. But I hid it, I didn't want him to know that I was upset. Because that's what he wants. The only person that's helping me through his is my friend, Ray. He sat by me and talked to me through it. He's such a sweet kid.

there's blokes like that in my year, too, but i always end up yelling at them during class. hahaha. i never get too angry or upset, but people who make pointless and hurtive comments definitely make me aggressive.

Oh my gosh!! he could not be more immature!! jesus, it shocks me how further advanced girls are in our teen years..... it all has to do with our brains though. I read this book called 'The Female Brain' and all the reasons for this stuff are explained.

He talks about me in class out loud so I can hear him up front, just so I get mad. It's just so frustrating. I don't even give a fuck that they don't like my project. I'm not sad. I'm fucking angry that I can't do anything about it, and that some guys do think like that. I called him out in front of the class, telling him to not talk behind my back and that it was rude. He 'apologized' and started laughing with his friends.

 

I could give a flying fuck about him. He's dead to me. I don't care anymore. He can kiss my FEMINIST ass.

I think - some of it is due to slower emotional maturity; some is just a lack of empathy (depends on how they're raised..). Part is the times we're in - commitment is a bit frightening, so that can be part of it.

But maybe instead of looking for the fireflies, go for the shy, quiet types! Usually it takes time to build friendships; that's a better start than picking a date off the date palm!

Or just be free for a while - it's good to spread your wings, and just not worry about it - planned things often fail, where more organic relationships usually fare much better..
