It's a question that's been puzzling me for years, can anyone tell me what exactly is going on at the end of the studio version of Gravity from 5.36 to the end? Sounds a bit like guitar feedback but the pitch changes too much for that to be true. Any ideas? Strings maybe?

Considering Jonny uses it in the rest of the song, I think it's a lot of e-bow improv with effects and probably a slide.

if you listen closely its a mix of jonny's guitar with a super fast vibrato and chris doing scat vocals.
