N. American Coldplayers, could you help me?

Featured Replies

I'm making this request on a couple of forums.

As one or two of you might have read earlier, I'm putting together a list of bars/clubs that hire indie rock bands. So, if you could tell me your favorite, it would be a big help.

It also means if my band hits the road next year, I might get to meet some Coldplayers! COOL!:D

sorry, i'm only 15. i don't go to bars.

Toad's Place in New Haven, Connecticut. Just visit their site at toadsplace.com. All you have to do is send them a demo and theyll let you know. BTW many great bands have played there before becoming big!

One of the better places for that here (the Attic) just closed down. :(

I'm sorry...I can't really help.

But consider trying to hit a lot of college towns. That's where it's at.

Good luck.

THanks, guys. I'm mostly hoping to find places you go to so I can eventually meet some of you, like I said before. But if you're underage, I'm glad you don't know of any, lol.

A friend of mine played the Attic a few years back. Sorry to hear it's gone!

i was going to suggest this! toads place is actually a decently famous place, and fairly big acts (well, usually acts that were once big) still play there!

2732, where in CT are you from?! new haven area?

BWAHAHAHAHA! I love your avi, Angie...as always! Beware the 'Eyes' of March! Thanks for the names...any idea where a band should apply for SXSW?

EDIT: Actually, I can look that one up, I'm not that lazy, lol.

Too late for this years SXSW, but try for next because SXSW kicks major ass!

You could go to The Purple Fiddle in Thomas, WV.

And I could get in.

I don't know if that's your kind of place, though.

Yeah, The Attic would be the place if it was still here. Kind of leaves a big hole with it gone. Guess that's what you get when a place like that is owned by a skeezy nightclub like the Dome. :dozey::\

Um, other than that I'm a little out of the loop myself not being a drinker (I know, I know... can such a thing exist in such a boozaholic town?), but the best place to find out is in The Coast- they keep track of all the local live music. Here's their venue guide: http://www.thecoast.ca/117608.112113body.lasso?

I'm only 11, but I have been to the Slowdown in Omaha, NE. It's designed for rock concert but they do have a bar..

BOOKING QUOTE FROM THEIR SITE:

Booking

The Procedure

1. Send us a demo of your music (CD or tape is preferred, but send platter if that is all you have) Your package should contain pertinent information about your band - contact name/number, where you have played, and whatever else you think we should know.

2. Mail your package to:

729 N. 14th St.

Omaha, NE 68102

3. You can also drop off your package at the bar during the hours of 4pm - 1am.

4. Give us two to three weeks to listen to it. We get up to fifty CDs/tapes a week, and we do listen to them all, but it takes time. When calling to check on your submission, please remember to be patient. We try to get to everyone, but we get tons of demos, and even more phone calls.
