you are right on that, i've been there not so long time ago, but truly i wasn't that talkative and i payed more attention to studies at least on those two subjects :P

nah is not a matter of accent from my area... remember i was born and part of my family background is from where is suppoused that spanish is better pronounced and so most accurate. ;)

 

v should sound a bit like an f

 

b should sound like b

 

but people use to pronounced both then (v and b) as b, so at times it can be confusing and you know which word is used for the context, for instance:

vaca and baca. or vote or bote.

 

people pronounce it the same and we understand it for the context... but RAE says it should be pronounced as i've said and as far as i know is only well pronounced in some few places here...
