Batman
Yeah I wonder too what Chris is singing there. The only thing I could understand where the first two lines, but I'm not sure if they are right, because english is not my first language^^ 'Cuz in the end there's only us and oh my friend, there's only love ..... Open-Politik
Here’s ‘Life is for Living’, live in Sydney from 2003. Originally, Coldplay this song was recorded unfinished. Chris managed to finish it and boy did he do a great job or what? It has a glorious crescendo with Jonny Buckland’s wailing guitar, which rises to an anthemic chorus, that just makes your heart burst with joy. Marvellous. Now I never meant, To do you wrong, That’s what I came here to say. But if I was wrong, Then I’m sorry, I don’t let it stand in our way. As my head just aches, When I think of, The things that I shouldn’t have done. But, life is for living, We all know, And I don’t wanna live it alone. Sing, Ah, ah, ah, Sing, Ah, ah, ah, Yeah I sing Ah, ah, ah. Cause in the end There’s only us And oh my friend There’s only love In a cave They’re timing us Cause in the end There’s only love
Bonus_mosher
 - "In a Cave"? I mean, It's the closest that It sounds like but it just doesn't make any sense.
Tnspieler1012
A lot of lyric sites struggle with that line, one guess is that it's "...not our cares that time gave us." There's also a slight difference between the glasto and live 2003 versions. I think in glasto he ends the lines with "there's only us" while in sydney he was compelled to say "there's only love" at the end. It's sort of like the ending of politik where it doesn't seem as if the lyrics were ever perfectly written out.
Open-Politik
Yeah in Politike Its like he says, Love over the hence, Because he cant say love over the THIS, makes no sense.

Tnspieler1012
well he says "give me love over this" before the coda, but during the second half of the coda he starts singing again. It only sounds like a melody without words distinct words in the album version, but in live 2003 I think he put words to it...something like "Oh my loooove, yoooouuu-aaaahrrre...youhoooo arrree!". Kind of taken from clocks, that's what it sounds like to me anyway.

"In the end, there's only us.. Oh my friend, there's only us... In a ___ with time wiv us? cuz in the end, there only uusss.....ohhh...." maybe it will forever be a mystery. Pseudonym
I really cant tell you what hes singing, and while this is one of my favorite Coldplay songs, and maybe their best live performance of a song, i prefer not to know what hes singing. its kind of nice leaving it up to mystery, it lets you believe it could have been anything and unless coldplay confirms what the exact lyrics are, its all just speculation. Pseudonym
God what an old thread well he says "give me love over this" before the coda, but during the second half of the coda he starts singing again. It only sounds like a melody without words distinct words in the album version, but in live 2003 I think he put words to it...something like "Oh my loooove, yoooouuu-aaaahrrre...youhoooo arrree!". Kind of taken from clocks, that's what it sounds like to me anyway. I don't think he was singing any real words there, just vocalizing, like "oooh" or "lala" no real words just messing around.
