wait! there are a lot of swallowed in the sea haters? i thought it was one of the fan favorites? otherwise why would they put it in their encore on that last tour?

 

a whisper is not one of my favorites, but i think its one of coldplay's most important songs through their first three albums. it shows their range better than any other song on the parachutes or x & y

yes yes! (about the video), though i would have mine in color, with a nice little love story to go along with it. but a really long residential street at night lit by these orangey streetlamps with chris walking down it DEFINITELY would be incorporated. it's the kind of thing i think about every time i hear the song! it's one of those that i have my own little music video to.

 

i've always had a hard time working out exactly what chris sings in "a whisper," though. i mean, i've looked up the lyrics on several occasions, but for some reason they don't really stick in my head, perhaps because the words are hard to make out anyway. it's probably the ONLY coldplay song i consistently mess up the lyrics with when i'm belting it out while driving :laugh1:

Yeah, great minds think alike! :dance: Its definitely what I see in my head when I'm listening to it. It would make such a great video, IMO.

 

Haha, I used to have no idea what Chris was on about in that video either. But with repeated listens i think I've sussed out most of the lyrics. I do always, forget them though, because really the song is focusing on the music itself, and not the singing... maybe. I'm speculating, of course. But the way the song is arranged its as if the guitars are deliberately made to drown out his voice.

Oh yes, it was the 4th single wasn't it. I would have loved to see what they could have done with the video of that song, given all the imagery in the lyrics. A black and white video with Chris walking down an endless street at night, only lit by street lamps, comes to mind.

 

And thanks for the info! I've never read that book before even though I've seen it in Zavvi & HMV a few times. I'll need to dig out that AROBTTH interview CD to see what they said about it there, because its been a while since I heard it.

 

Wow, that's so creepy. Ive always said this song would go absolutley amazingly with a video like that. I had no idea so many people had the same image of a non-existent video. Incredible. :stunned:
