Hair dyeing (or dying, or dieing... or whatever)

I'm a dirty blonde kinda colour and I'm thinking I'm a bit sick of it so I might dye it darker. A light brown or so.

I just heard a friend of mine say he hated it and had bad experiences with it so I was just wondering if anyone had l any stories on it. Or any recommended products or what have you.

Just thought I'd ask, anyways.

never dyed my hair.. so I dont know.

but you should try it with a short duration product, you know these things that only last two weeks or something.. and then if you like it go to your hairdresser. oh and do that when you're on holidays, in case it turns out to be bad !

If you have blonde hair you can't just dye it brown as it'll turn a greeny colour.

You need to get a cheap, wash-in red colour, once you've done that you can put in a darker colour.

i never knew that!

this is exactly what i'm looking for! thanks!

I never know that, what a weird combination. blonde+brown=greeny

I have black hair though and still happy with it

well, i've dyed my hair for years.

Sometimes the result has been crap. I once got bluish hair when i dyed it "dark brown". I dyed it again with red and it turned out fine.

You'll get the best result if you go to a hairdresser but it costs hell of a lot..

Well before any proper decision I just wanna do it temporarily to see what it looks like.

I think if I got it done properly I'd go to someone who knew what they were doing, at least.
