May 13, 200818 yr An interesting historical series or an opportunity to drool over Sean Bean? Discuss. :laugh3: Seriously though. I was given the Sharpe boxset as a birthday present, and have been re-watching the series. I've found myself appreciating the historical side of it more than I did when I was a teenager. THe filming is pretty impressive too.
May 13, 200818 yr Never really got into it, but seen a few episodes and really liked what I saw. Sean Bean is a leg-end. Love the sly nod to Sharpe in Lord Of The Rings when Sean's character, Boromir, cuts his finger on the shards of Isildur's sword and says "Still sharp" ("Still Sharpe") :P

What, it can't be both? :laugh3: Personally I think it's an interesting historical series made 100x better than the average one by the opportunity to drool over Sean Bean. Either option would not be nearly as good without the other to make it that much better. That's a niiice birthday present. :nice: I'm a little jealous. I probably wouldn't have done nearly as well in history class back in highschool if it wasn't for Sharpe.
